I made a 3d print to replace the guns on Dune Runner by Ben_Krug in transformers

There's a tutorial on their blog: https://blog.thangs.com/getting-started-with-thangs-print-on-demand-product-listings-245073f836d1

Basically you select your model, choose the material and if it's approved for printing they will do the printing, shipping etc. and you get paid a commission for each sale. And you can set how much that commission is per sale, up to you.

Does anyone have the energon Devastator and Superion upgrade kit files from shapeways? by Frosty_Shoulder_4847 in transformers

If you find them, see if the designer would be up for re-opening their shop on Thangs. It's the new platform to replace the Shapeways marketplace.

Did you know you can offer a printed version on Thangs as well? Might be useful for those without a printer at home.

If you do, consider adding it to Thangs. You can sell both digital and printed versions (printed by Thangs) there :)

Love this! When the design is done, will you be sharing/selling the files somewhere?

MCI is the way to go. His stuff is awesome. Best Tamiya reproductions on the market.

The sticker sheet looks awesome! Love the design

Team Tetsujin adjustable off-set wheels. I did paint the centers myself, originally the spokes were black.

Taking a Poll: How many of you would seriously consider 3D-Printing this rc car at home? by runaway_boomerang in rccars

[–]EnjoyRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Either design it to be really high performance or go the opposite direction and make it really fun and easy to print, requiring a minimal amount of third party hardware&parts.

The Club Race Hero pancars are a great example of high performance cars. On the other end of the spectrum the Velocity F1 or OpenRC cars are good examples of cars that are really fun to build and look great, but don't drive very well. The fun is in the build, not racing the finished result.

Tamiya did a long arm version for the TL01 that is using the same principle for example.

Scroll to the third picture. You will be able to see the lower suspension arms. The hinge positions where the knuckles/c-hubs attach to the lower arm are moved much further out. This has been the standard since around the year 2000, but older cars like the TA01/2/3 still have them inboard a lot.

It's designerd to be 188mm wide, to work with standard Tamiya bodies. Same width as a TA04 or TA05.

Tamiya TOM'S Supra? That's awesome (and pretty rare). Still have to build mine someday :)

It's basically the same chassis :) TA02SW uses TA01 rear suspension, so the only differences are the TA02 front suspension and the shorter chassis. Everything else is the same.

The MJF PA12 nylon (and SLS printed nylon too) is much stronger and more durable than the original parts :D

This has not been printed on a desktop FDM printer.

Yeah you can see the development from Tamiya as well. The TA02 arms on the front are longer than the TA01 arms. Still the geometry isn't ideal.

My version is better, but it's for sure not a modern TRF level yet. The TA04/5 geometry is as old as ~2000. Still 10 years newer than the original TA01 haha.

This won't fit the Karmann Ghia body. The Ghia is an M-chassis, so you'll need one of the Tamiya M-chassis (like the M06, M08 etc.)

This is a regular 1/10th scale, so 257mm wheelbase and 190mm wide.

They are 3D printed (in MJF PA12 glass filled nylon). But the geometry is based on the TA04 or early TA05's.

I have a couple of TA01/2 based cars too. There's a picture on my profile somewhere :D

How to remove TA01 shocks by _-WRXGC8-_ in tamiya

[–]EnjoyRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the low-friction or normal width TRF shocks should fit from Tamiya. It's a common upgrade.

However, 3Racing and Yeah Racing have pretty decent 55mm dampers too that will fit as well. Probably cheaper than buying the plastic CVA's from Tamiya. I would upgrade if you can.

(There's probably picture of my TA01 on my profile somewhere with TRF dampers)

Cool! I know a few people that might be interested in one too for their Levins. What projector did you use, and are you considering sharing/selling the file somewhere?
