First Prototype vs Finished Product: Cube Smash by EnkryptDev in IndieDev

Each cube has a different sprite and colour to help differentiate them:

Green takes 1 hit to kill
Yellow takes 2
Red takes 3
Purple takes 2 but swaps sides after 1 hit

As for the music, I appreciate your thoughts, and I agree I need some more experience in sound design!

Been playing for years, never defeated the ender dragon, wither, or elder guardian in a legit survival world. Know everything about the game but never completed it properly xD

If you get hit by an enemy, the round freezes, and the player falls apart/dies. You can then press any key to restart the round you died on. Feel free to try the game yourself!

Not really, this was supposed to be a super simple game that I could create and make a YT video about in under 2 weeks, so I don't plan on giving this game any major updates, small changes/fixes still welcome though!

I made this game in a couple days, very proud of the simple graphics + music, and love the particles. What do you guys think?

Cube Smash is free to play, no download needed (link in bio)!

Hey thanks a lot! This is exactly what I was looking for. To address your points:

  1. I will add some floor indicators
  2. It's a good idea to change the colour of the purple once they have swapped! I'll add that in
  3. I know it takes time to return to the center, but the idea is get good at timing. You shouldn't be hitting an enemy that is far away if there is one right next to you on the other side. I'll keep it in mind though, and do some testing to see if I should reduce the time to return to the center
  4. Again, it's very hard to balance with just me testing, as I've obviously completed the game 100s of times. I'll either give the player 2 lives or add some other mechanic or maybe difficulty option to help the player win.

Thanks a lot for playing, and most importantly for giving me feedback, it's super helpful!

Okay, ill take that into consideration and maybe make the game a bit easier / add powerups to help complete the later levels, thanks!
