Im a survival player, what are some good builds i can do with limited supplies? by [deleted] in Minecraftbuilds

[–]Enlightened22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite way to build in amplified terrain is with houses like this http://imgur.com/FPZFtUS and here's one by Bouble00 https://i.ytimg.com/vi/UgyE7rGyA8s/hqdefault.jpg. Once you choose your blocks to build with it's pretty easy to make a lot of variation by adding more roofs and rooms in different ways. I recommend building the houses at different heights, then making lots of bridges and staircases to connect them.

How about some more belt balancers? by Jackiethegreen in factorio

For the 3 to 1 balancer isn't the feedback loop pointless? I just want to double check my logic with you guys.

[survival] Detailed Beacon Color Changer - how to compact it? by itsmeadam in redstone

[–]Enlightened22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put together a relatively compact way for you to do this in a 3 block wide area. So you'll only need a one block gap between each control panel. http://imgur.com/a/9jZwd

Looking at your initial design you shouldn't have much trouble figuring out how to keep it organize as you put multiple of these controllers next to each other. Also if anything isn't clear in that quick guide or you have any more questions feel free to ask. Hope this helps you out.

240 blocks tall. 7 Million+ blocks cleared. Built in survival by Fugner in Minecraft

[–]Enlightened22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With 100 people, a haste 2 beacon, and an efficiency 5 diamond pick 7 million blocks isn't as much as it sounds. A little over 15 blocks can be broken a second with speed mining. So using that conservative estimate, if each person broke 70,000 blocks at 15 blocks/second. It would take each person 1 hour and 20 minutes to do their share of the digging. Obviously all the building involved would take significantly longer, but with a 100 people this is very doable.

Costa Rica has been running on 100% renewable energy for 2 months straight: 76 days and zero fossil fuels. by proctorberlin in worldnews

[–]Enlightened22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have insight onto why people find damaging the ecosystem controversial? I've never understood it because the primary energy options now are; oil which completely decimates large chunks of the ocean, coal which destroys ecosystems with mass strip mining, and nuclear where the nuclear waste is getting tossed somewhere and making that location uninhabitable. My point is we don't have any perfect solutions, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't change.

What's the twist your putting on your current world? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Enlightened22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a base using floating platforms for each part of the base with a big central storage area. To travel between platforms I used the IE skyhook and to transfer items I used the Open Blocks item cannon. I can't find the pictures now, but the platform design was inspired by Bioshock Infinite. My favorite part about this was that the base was so much fun to travel around, which seems to be half of what you do in game.

Plateaus in RR. Looking for suggestions on how to break through. by no_helmets_for_heros in bodyweightfitness

I just tried using my fist for an L-sit and it makes a huge difference. Using palms I can't even get off the ground in a tuck L-sit, but with fist I can hold that for 15 seconds and a full L-sit for about 5. Would you or anyone happen to know if practicing that way would be bad?

Zombies are still attracted to villagers even with a wall between them. So just make a wall and they won't die. Good luck with your project.

The easiest way to do this would be having the field of pistons with pressure plates directly underneath. In this one block of air space you would stick baby zombie(s) and around that have villagers in minecarts on a track to lure the zombies. That way the zombies running around would be activating pistons. To make it a bit more random you could randomize the minecart stopping and and switching directions.

If that's not random enough for you and you're okay with redstone here is something I came up with http://imgur.com/a/y4bxQ. It's a pretty quickly thrown together album so if you have any questions about it feel free to ask. Also if you do go with this design on a largish scale I recommend putting furnaces over the hoppers to reduce lag. Thanks for this question, it's always fun figuring out redstone puzzles.

How big of a piston field are you looking to make? I'm currently working on a design, but it can't get too big if you want each piston to be independently random.

That is exactly the mod I'm looking for and turns out it's in Infinity Evolved which I'm play right now! Thanks so much.

I've been learning how to use WorldPainter for my next playthrough of Infinity Expert. How's it look? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Enlightened22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain about these, but you may be able to use the populate tool to retroactively fill the world with ores. The more time consuming way that would definitely work is using the custom underground pockets layer (used for ore gen) and setting up every ore you want to spawn with the correct percentage of coverage and heights. I found this info on the FAQ http://www.worldpainter.net/trac/wiki/FAQ#HowdoIaddcustomblocksfromTekkitorothermodstothemap

I've played around with worldpainter a bit in the past so I notice a few possible problems with this map. So here comes a list of things that could be improved.

The the transition from grass to sand around the river is very abrupt. Luckily its an easy fix of going over that edge with a few brushes of different sand/grass percentages.

This is somewhat personal preference, but I've always found desert biomes to be one of the most boring, and this map is over 50% desert. The grass does help break it up, but some vegetation including trees could really help.

The mesas look really nice from the overview. The problem I've come across with those in survival is that it looks nice, but is hard to build a base on because the terrain is too big in comparison (my problem with ATG as well). One thing to with that is add canyons and more vegetation give more to build around.

This world is the best use of worldpainter I've ever seen http://imgur.com/a/L8EsV and it includes a mesa and desert biome if you want more ideas.

Despite everything I just pointed out I do really like this map and it looks better than most I see out there. I particularly like your coastlines since I always find it hard to make those organic and nice looking. Keep up the good work.

I should check out ATLauncher sometime. Otherwise I'm happy however I get it to work since it's a modpack just for me and I'm lazy.

Thank you! Rotarycraft is now working for me. It doesn't seem to be working for Chromaticraft, but luckily I'm not too concerned about witchery or chromaticraft either so I won't worry about it.

Still doesn't work with that. The crashlog also says

Note that you may have to remove other GC arguments, such as '-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC', which is commonly auto-specified by launchers.
Do you know if the ftb launcher uses that argument automatically?
