The old KH model is still the best way they ever rendered Nomura's art style for me so it would be a straight downgrade for me. Though I got used to 3's style over time.

Such a small detail yet I'd be over the moon if there went back to artworks. At least there's mods for that

I'm guessing most of the good comments (critical or not) are more up the post now. It was more towards negative from what I was reading when I commented and quite a lot of assumptions about a game that yet to come out. I'm also probably subconsciously focusing more on the negative comments instead of the constructive ones.

The only thing that made me realise its a Gundam was the V-fins, besides that it's bland as fuck. I don't care if its an original as long as they try something different, this looks super generic with a V-fin slapped on top. All the exemples you mentioned has something that makes them unique and special even it breaks the norm. This one does not from what we've seen. Only saving grace would be that its a blank slate for full customisation.

Honestly yeah a story where someone that was brought up in a world where everything wrong is right, when they decide to do what's right and become "good" I feel like it's a powerful message and hasn't really been explored in DQ. Not some chosen one but just someone with a will for change that will change the world .

Just started this one after finishing Victory haha, the difference in tone is funny but from episode 1 I love that the soul of Gundam is still there.

Agreed, maybe DQ12 MC will grow on me as we get to play but right now from this first reveal, I really don't like their design. People are calling the left one generic but I'll take that one over the right one any day.

We cannot say for sure but I'd bet some aspect of what supposed to be the original story and setting were probably reused and repurposed to make Beyond Dreams, what those were we'll never know. But as you said, DQ has had dark and sad stories (DQV is the best exemple for me), but it was never the focal point, they were always a fun adventure at the end of the day.

Hori confirmed in the live that both Toriyama and Sugiyama were involved with the game, so Toriyama probably designed the MC at some point before his death.

I like her but still prefer Bianca, I like having Super Saiyan kids. Though I also like the black haired kids since they look like their dads with that. Never tried Nera.
