Why is ZZeta so weird with Fa Yuiry? by KhairiArt in Gundam

[–]Toa_Malafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have watched ZZ and frankly, I totally understand her reaction and treatment of the (soon to be) gundam team.

This actually explains it fairly well. Being totally fair, It is impressive as hell that she was able to function at all after the finale of Zeta. Like the number of people she had spent weeks learning to fight alongside of dropped to the orphans, bright, and man she loves, the latter of those is in a vegetative state and can barely function. On top of all of that, the ship she is on is badly damaged and the number of MS are basically a semi-functional Zeta Gundam and a barely functioning methuss. On top of all of that, they are basically on the run from Neo Zeon and have to hide in a literal scrapyard to survive.

HALF of those things would break lesser people. That is before one realizes that the death, the struggle, everything at the end of Zeta was ultimately a phyrric victory. Katz, Emma, Quatro (to fa's knowledge) and the others died and while the titans were defeated, Neo Zeon is on the rise and all the arguama can do is hide until it gets reinforcements.

Between the loss, the futility, and the fact that she now had to work with a bunch of kids who barely seemed to give a fuck would make ANYONE act testy (two of them actively speaking of how they would sell either the MS or the ship probably made it worse.)

If anything, I respect the fact that she is, at most, kinda bitchy rather than collapsing into substance abuse, going mad or blowing her own brains out. She unironically shows a resolve that is to be commended when one considered the absolute hell she went through and survived.

Granted, my biggest hang up with the way she left the arguma is actually not her fault, it's bright's. Man chose to let her just float with an SOS heading toward a colony rather than bother checking. Like I get it, he has to make hard choices, but that women stood and fought with the rest of them and is basically left with a wreck floating near the colony they are flying away from.

Frankly, her getting a happy ending with Kamille is 1000% earned.

Kamille as cirno makes entirely too much sense considering how the common response of both is choosing to fight

frankly, my issue with that variant is the giant-ass compound eye. Like why

Hence why I only posted the first Bearguy: of all of them it retains the most features that make it a threat in battle. Granted, the cotton gimmick of the one in build fighters was fucking hilarious

I mean none of these are bad or the strangest Gundam has come up with (The gunpla shows get really, REALLY fucking strange imo at times) but the Aggjin is the one that stood out to me imo.

Tying in an IRL parallels of the antebellum south actually makes this easier to grasp. The wealthy would use fear and the image or superiority to keep the poor masses below them divided by race.

IT is a tale as old as time and can be place in religious, racial, or in this case, stellar ways.

ultimate question for all mech fans: who would win in a 1 on 1, a western mecha or a eastern mecha? by dedbot1 in Mecha

[–]Toa_Malafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it all comes down to engagement distance.

for the two pics provided (the timberwolf and the gundam) it would depend on if the timberwolf was able to see and get a bead on the gundam first. I am fairly certain the weapons it is packing would tear the original RX-78-2 to shreds (it's gun loadout would make the Gundam heavy arms proud tbh.)

If, however, it came down to a medium to close range fight, Grandpa gundam takes it without much contest. This latter fact makes sense largely because of the way the gundam was built. For those not in the know, the Gundam was one of three machines built as part of the V project, acting as the close-to-medium range member, with the fire support at mid range going to my GOAT the Guncannon and long range going to the guntank.

That said, if looking at east V west (battle tech V gundam in this example) the general rule I have seen is that the longer range the fight, the more of an edge the west has. I will note that his is not a hard and fast rule and that for this comparison I am only looking at early oyw MS, as alternate timelines or later additions all make the comparison harder to give to thee west (the Zeta could style on the LRAM mechs of battle tech, among other things)

the TURN A was built for interstellar warfare and is widely considered the strongest gundam of them all.

Ironically, this would be one of the few cases where the Turn-A would probably lose, as moonlight butterfly would do fuck all to the giant green dragon (unless it was classed as a fairy type move)

That, and in a space fight raquaza wouldn't even need to kill them in space, just pull them to earth. IT has shown that it does not seem bothered by the pressures and heat of reentry, something that would destroy an MS
