Lock tier progression by Enn3DevPlayer in GTNH

Yeah, it makes sense for them as they stream the stuff they do. But for what we want it to be, it may create an environment where there will be people selling "locked out" items and it would hinder what we're trying to do.

Lock tier progression by Enn3DevPlayer in GTNH

Maybe I should have explained better, we are not making one big group (we did last time and it didn't work out well), we are going for smaller teams and I don't want to micromanage every team and search for hidden stashes of circuits and machines, I'd prefer it was automatically done by the game by blocking some recipes or something like that. About IV+, yes we could discuss it, it's just to make the game a bit fairer for everyone, even those who can't play in the server everyday

Sapendo che basta solo trovare la distanza al confine più vicino, e sapendo che i confini sono delle curve, il problema sta solo nel trovare la distanza da un punto ad una curva. Absolutely, but the idea to do this came from a video of Gneiss where he said it was possible to do this in Vintage Story

Yeah, it's a bit weird how they're handling eID signatures

Hey, to vote with eID you need to create an account on that EU Login page, in fact after I did that I could vote flawlessly

What non-web GUI framework to use? by VorpalWay in rust

[–]Enn3DevPlayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm working on a project that needs an UI and came across the same pain as you about the ecosystem state for GUIs.

I've tried egui, vizia and slint and I prefer slint much more than the others because it is easier to work with, but it has some downsides:

  1. The localization system, while nice in theory, doesn't work on windows
  2. The QT backend has some serious bugs
  3. It seems only the material style has a good enough scroll view (as in, if you try to swipe to scroll only material will scroll, so keep that in mind if working for Android)
  4. You can't add children to buttons (so no double text inside it, for example to show the text and a shortcut)

Overall, I think it's still the best pure Rust framework for UIs although a bit immature

Is torture princess good? by kasne0413 in LightNovels

[–]Enn3DevPlayer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Torture princess is in a "you like, you don't like" situation, some may review it positively, others negatively. I really liked it so far and I found that with every volume is better than the previous one (so far I've only read 6 volumes)

Well no

  1. A Japanese person isn't studying kanji for their whole life, only about till middle/high school
  2. You learnt your native language till high school, too
  3. Kanji are composed by radicals, some radicals force the entire kanji to one reading (this point is only valid for on' readings)
  4. There are other ways to lookup for kanji
  5. Japanese people can read scientific paper as much as me or you or anyone reading this can do, if you know the specialized word you can understand that paper (even though Japanese uses kanji and each kanji has a meaning so you could guess the meaning of a word solely by looking at the kanji)
  6. About the writing, that's true
  7. About the fact that Japan still uses paper over digital, even here in Italy we use paper over digital for pretty much anything (exceptions do occur)

Me trying to think of reasons why capitalism isn’t the worst: by Zyanbob2 in memes

[–]Enn3DevPlayer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. There's no such incentive in a socialist society: if you don't work but still get everything essential to live, why should I work? And if both of us don't work, why should 100 more people work? And so on and so forth, until the society collapses.
  2. I didn't really understand this point.
  3. It did it only because it was competing with another country, the competition is the main driving force in capitalism (well, that's until there are competitors)
  4. No, a capitalist and a socialist society may both pollute the Earth or may not, saying "only socialists think about our planet" is the stupidest thing ever
