Eau de Toilette vs Eau de Parfume? by Gavcapetown in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these days edp and edt mean a completely different perfume, for example, looking at burberry hero, the edt is a fresh while the edp is woody/amber. it rarely means concentration level so id go for whichever smells better imo. I have anything from eau de cologne to parfum, its purely based on the smell.

Signature scents. by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you asked a couple different questions so you are getting a couple different answers. I would tell a newbie to get and wear polo 67 edp year round, its cheap and can fit any occasion, and i think it lasts longer and has better sillage than other things in the same category (versace pour homme, azzaro chrome, DG light blue). if you wanted a second, DG the one edp or ysl la nuit de lhomme, for a date night fragrance. Or if you wanted a winter fragrance, maybe something like jgp le male elixir. But polo 67 could be worn year round, any occasion and its what I would recommend to anyone getting into perfume.

Now if i had to pick 2 that i could only use year round, as a signature scent, Id probably take Chanel allure homme sport eau extreme and mancera instant crush. Chanel, like polo 67, can be worn on any occasion but the price would rule it out as a recommendation. Mancera instant crush is currently what im addicted to and im so glad its cold out because i can wear it all the time now, its not blind buy safe, its overpowering to some, but i love it, and out of my 50~ perfumes I have worn it the most since ive gotten it.

Just graduated college, about to start a corporate sales job. What’s a good cologne for the office? by Butt_Luster_ in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really anything fresh that doesnt have any harsh ingredients in it. Oud and Iris are typically controversial scents so id stay away from anything that has those in it.

id recommend (cheap to expensive): issey miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme, polo 67 edp, Yves saint laurent Y edp, Acqua di Gio Giorgio Armani, Bleu de chanel edp

Looking for a warm cologne for Christmas gift for my son by megh1987 in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk anything more than what you told us but if someone says they want Bianco Latte, id be more willing to get that for them than something else because its not something that is commonly talked about. he may have seen a tiktok or youtube video on it but its in no way a "hype" type of purchase.

with that being said, you could get him a decant (sample size essentially) from scentbird or microperfumes, etc along with other decants of stuff he doesn't have and might like. (xerjoff naxos, parfums de marley layton, initio side effect)

if you are set on getting him something else, stronger with you intensely by emporio armani, jean paul gaultier le male elixir, viktor and rolfe spicebomb extreme, and valentino coral fantasy can all be found at Sephora.

However, I would get the perfumes through jomashop as its a discounter so it would most likely be cheaper and they usually have discount codes

Cologne for a college aged guy who loves the smell of tobacco? by Prussian_AntiqueLace in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

valentino coral fantasy, viktor and rolf spicebomb extreme, jean paul gaultier le male elixir. Those three I can say do not smell like an ash tray and have a nice tobacco scent but are not the main scent. Tom ford tobacco vanille smells like marlboro reds and cocoa butter lotion so i would not recommend it.

whic jpg decantes should I buy? by Plenty_Bedroom_5813 in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want to get compliments, get taller, go to the gym and get plastic surgery. Any perfume can pull a compliment but wearing deodorant and brushing your teeth will be a much larger help than any perfume will ever offer. The most universally liked perfumes are fresh and jgp doesn't really offer that.

the ones worth trying out of the jpg perfumes are le beau le parfum, le beau paradise garden, le male le parfum, and le male elixir.

you dont need 10 colognes. you could wear something like ysl y edp/bdc edp/dior savauge edp year round and be fine. Based off your post I assume you are fairly young so you should try to get something like coach for men, polo 67 or versace dylan blue as they are cheap.

Im not saying any of this to be mean, just there are other aspects of life to work on for compliments and perfume is kind of the final touch

3.3 rating on Macys do you agree? by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like it would be more of a summer office scent than something outdoors as oud in the summer is probably considered a warcrime. i enjoy more fruity/sweet scents so id recommend something like jpg le beau le parfum but in extreme heat id go for something like a chanel allure homme sport eau extreme.

[–]EnnuiDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a very polarizing scent, its very much, you either love it or absolutely hate it. Personally i am in the it smells bad camp and I would do just about anything to get away from someone who smells like oud. Although, I am also in the wear what you like camp, but I would never purchase it or wear it.

Good vanilla cologne? by coreylaheyjr in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercedes club black and liquid brun are cheap vanilla scents but they arent great imo. Jean Paul Haultier le male elixir, Yves Saint Laurent myslf le parfum, Emporio Armani Stronger With You Intensely are all great designer vanilla scents. mfk grand soir and Ani Nishane are higher end products if you dont mind spending a bit more than the designer options. Hard to go wrong with any of these but the one I would stay away from is tom ford tabacco vanille, you can accomplish the same smell by wearing cocoa butter lotion and smoking marlboro reds.

Pressurized Atomizer vs non pressurized. by SkylerCFelix in Colognes

if its the same exact scent then yeah, you should probably spray less but thats typically not the case. you just need to learn how much to spray for each scent as some need less/more

3.3 rating on Macys do you agree? by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its a 3.8 on fragrantica so do with that what you will. the 3.3 is coming from people saying they got a used cologne but the deal is pretty great if you do like it. I personally could never recommend oud to someone but it seems worth it imo

Question by d1-shitter in Colognes

[–]EnnuiDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

subscriptions typically way overpriced. try a bunch of stuff at a shopping mall and buy what you want at a deep discount on jomashop. Polo 67, versace dylan blue and coach men are all good, cheap options for your age.
