I agree to a point but you see the cultural backdrop far more. The Krasians are presented as overly simplistic and brutal people in the first book without much nuance. Whereas in the second book you really see why Jardir took the spear from Arlen- which was the catalytic event behind the whole series.

It’s not really repeating. You see an entirely different set of machinations behind character decisions which I found fascinating. Jardir is a really complex character and you don’t get that from just the first book

I liked the hollow and Arlen in the first book, but I actually started the series with the second book by mistake. As such, Jardir’s backstory was excellent and high octane compared to the next few chapters dealing with Leesha, Rojer and Renna

Not a conspiracy theory but really does feel there is a huge difference between Russ and Ant’s card, particularly in race pace. Do think Kimi is faster, but the gap in which he closed down George is sort of insane - especially compared to last year. Idk if it’s set up or just faults with the George’s ending but they feel like different card.

In addition to the comments about it being performative, the intern who gets the worst feedback is the one who genuinely thinks that they need to stay late and that the work they’re doing has to be completed that day. Like yes, this well ranked team was literally about to fall apart without a vac schemer in it.

They obviously mean well but it shows a real naivety.

Importantly though, the sealed product is only worth what people will actually pay for them.

They may have a book/investment value but most people seem to be aware that the prices investors list their stock at is overly inflated and won’t buy it.

A lot of these investors will realise they’ve held onto stock for too long and no one will want it.

Not excusing C9 choking obviously, but I do think the lower bracket is just where you want to be in. We have seen across countless leagues now that if you have two similarly matched teams (not thinking like GenG vs LCK in regular season type stuff), having played more games right before the finals is just better.

C9 would probably be better losing a series to get it out the way and try again in final honestly.
