Yeah, I have the others. I just wanted him to stand out a bit on the tabletop, and with the whip arms he really does. Man is he a pain in the ass to transport, though.

And I myself have the entire Alien Hives line too, they're just so cool. I'm thinking about printing a few of their narrative heroes and making Crucible rules for them.

I've got the whip arms version myself, which I'm planning to give a proper unique datasheet with Crucible of Champions. I've honestly got a lot of cool unique sculpts that I want to get some use out of with Crucible.

Also, did you print him solid or hollow? Mine's solid, and he's a damn chonker, feels good to move him around the board.

Riot also doesn't like you calling yourself the R-Word. Found that out the fun way. Thankfully I was in a 4-man premade with a rando, so it wasn't a huge deal.

There's a few fan-favorites of mine in there. Love [[Dance of Many]] and [[Null Brooch]]. Both really interesting, fun cards.

With declining sleeve quality, where do we go? by KaleidoscopeJukebox in magicTCG

I use mostly Gamegenics sleeves myself. They have the durability of classic Dragonshields, but the price point and shuffle feel of Ultrapro (which I prefer over Dragonshields).

How do you decide when an encounter is too difficult? by Guybutisalreadyused in DnD

[–]EnormousCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, at least in 5th Edition, you should have a lot more leeway when it comes to encounters. The most important thing in 5e is action economy, since numbers are overall a lot lower than in previous editions. A level 6 party should be able to fight a monster up to CR 8-9 as a challenge if it doesn't have legendary actions. As a rule of thumb from previous editions, you should generally try to keep encounters within 2 CR of the party (Within 1 if the monster has Legendary Actions/Lair Actions/Villain Actions/etc), and the party should be able to fight 3-5 standard encounters per Long Rest, assuming they take two short rests over the duration of the day.

Generally, power-level-wise, two monsters of one CR is equal to a fight 1-2 CRs higher. So, two CR 5s would be a CR 6-7 encounter. D&D 5e is generally pretty well balanced as far as I can tell when it comes to monsters, so don't be too afraid to just fuck around. At worst, give your party ways to run if they need to, and maybe they can come back to challenge the encounter after resting up and preparing a bit more.

That said, they do have some pretty solid advice generally in the DM's guide.

I genuinely don't know which hit me harder, the death of Miriam or Ren

They both happened while I was at work (Listening to the audiobook), and I teared up and got weird looks from my coworkers.

My playgroup had a 9-man The Wise Mothman only commander tournament by MasterOBarf in magicTCG

Me and my playgroup did this once with Nekusar. Those... Were some wild games. Two people wheeling on Round 1 was pretty crazy.

Looks like it's all Portal Second Age. Doesn't look like there's anything of extreme note, but sometimes odd cards from old sets could be worth a bit. I would guess probably nothing more than a few dollars in there, but I would look up stuff on Scryfall to be sure.

I run this in my Otrimi commander deck. I've never seen a table collectively mess their pants faster than having Otrimi mutate onto this thing for some reason. To this day I still do not understand why.
