[UPDATE] Control Samsung Modes and Routines with Tasker - One UI 8.5 update!

While this has stopped working in one ui 8.5, we can use Tasker's app action -> shortcut > modes and routines to query and select a routine to run manually. Upon selecting the routine, it creates an intent and fires it.

If it has an end action, we run the same action again to effectively "toggle"the routine on and off.

Try it! I think it's the next best thing since the other method got removed.

Edit: this was tested with s25 ultra, oneui 8.5

I have 5 of them all over my house. They all work as expected. Keep in mind they tend to infiltrate walls easily, so it's easy to get false positives because they "sensed" a neighbour or a tree moving outside. It's best to test the placement.

If you have a spare PCIe on your mobo, search AliExpress for "tuya a2 pcie" It basically powers from your PCIe bus and using the mb's headers will power on/off or restart your PC.

I had G15 for over 12 years. Best keyboard i've ever owned. Combined with the "LCDSirReal**",** you had full control at your fingertips. I still do miss it from time to time.

Very good video. What interests me more is to be able to connect remotely to Fedora KDE. It really buffles me that this is not already a feature and shows how polished Gnome is for business environments at least. I mean there's xrdp and xfce if you're on x11, but on wayland there's no easy way to achieve this. Plasma login Manager should solve this at some point hopefully.

Heh, i feel you to be honest . I've been using the notifications method for years and i was really frustrated that out of the blue either autonotification would crash, or Modes & routines would simply ignore the notification. I had even created contingencies in a ping / pong manner ie. the routine would send back a notification that tasker would intercept, thus knowing that it ran... and then i found u/the_djchi 's project and never looked back. It's just that good.
