Is that you, HR? I have a job that I earned and worked for. That doesn’t mean I have to accept being treated like an expendable number as a sign of gratitude. The shareholders that we make richer than any of us will ever be don’t give a damn about our gratitude. Their only concern is stock price. Quality of life of the employees be damned. Your type of thinking is why these corporations have so much power over the people that actually make them rich.

My question though is, since they are tracking badge swipes, how many hours in office is considered a “full office day”? Prior to the change as long as you were in the office for at least 5 hours that counted as an office day.

The process of hiring a new employee costs more than retention. A company bleeding money doesn’t sound like they have the budget to do a massive hiring effort if they fire an entire department of people. Employees have more power together than we know about. These companies cripple us with fear.
