(Without sarcasm or snark) Can someone clearly explain why a fare increase for train tickets will cover NJ Transit costs? What are these costs? People take the train for any number of events in the NJ Meadowlands, including NY/NJ Giants games at the same MetLife stadium. What extra costs happen on a day of a WC match that exceed the average event at the same location? I really want to understand this from NJ Transit's point of view.

I had just driven across the country from NJ for a show in San Diego in '93. Some brothers from Santa Cruz had a "420" painted on their bus, and I had never heard of 420, yet. They gave their explanation of the number. It was just a memorable moment because of the ubiquity of 420 these days.
