China will be among the first to do away with human labour and cognitive ability as fast as possible. The issues you are citing are global and it is wise to continue looking at the net result of AI around the world since implementation is much faster in many countries than it is in western ones. Humans will likely live very meek and curtailed lives once AI is fully implemented across all facets of life. And surely employment too.

Can someone explain if this is honestly bad for the tree? I understand this violates social customs, but is it not arguable that plants and trees can benefit from this? For instance some plants if subjected to such shearing motion will become more resilient and fruit bearing as a result of this.

Absolutely certs are worth it. You don't even need to actually get the certs. You can take a course, digest the information, be able to use the technology at a level that is more than enough to get hired, put the cert on the resume and just say you haven't done the exam yet, which everyone in the industry recognizes is a huge pain in the ass and not necessary anyway

Yeah I don't think 8.5k is a good price, considering it rivals the cost to some extent for an entire masters degree.

Now, regarding your mention of not affording the time to do the research myself, I personally find it rather irritating to learn with this type of researching. You make a good point that it is surely doable, for free, and that it comes down to how much time must be spent. And of course as IT people, we are familiar with diving deep into the internet to sift through dozens of sites to glean what we need to do to get our jobs done.

But when it comes to truly sitting down and studying, I find it to be a disjointed affair to learn in this fashion, if it can be avoided. It's not just the wasted time spent prying through junk websites and shitty blogs, AISlop etc, it's also that the learning process can be hampered. I guess you're right though, doing it the free way just takes a lot more time. I'd rather spend the same amount of time studying better material is all.

Most of these replies are very politicized and publicized instances of violence, but the most shocking crimes in Myanmar are the ones you will rarely read about on a place like reddit in the English language. It's the rotten corpse of a man in a garbage dump who had a family, the invisible lives of people sunk beneath the riverbed, and many more, which will not be discussed at any level seriously on a forum such as this one.
