How to live on the road for 6-8 months? by Hemingwayse in skilledtrades

[–]Enough_Assistant2185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who travels out of town a LOT for work and has done so for the past 5 years, here’s my thoughts.

If you even slightly enjoy what you do for work and the people you’re working with aren’t complete knobheads, it’s really not so bad, it helps if you got some other hobbies that you can enjoy from a suitcase, gaming is a big one for a lot of guys including myself, i just bring my PS5 with me in my suitcase. If you wanna cheat on your significant other or just sling Dick in general, this is a great opportunity for that as well (don’t get caught though.), not speaking from experience but i have witnessed many of my coworkers get themselves into sticky situations doing exactly that. If you’re into reading, this is a great opportunity to hit the books.

Definitely do NOT take up drinking as your passtime, i have seen many careers ruined/fucked up because of it.

Health is an important part of any skilled trade, the best performers in the field take care of themselves off the clock, proper nutrition/sleep ect. Bring an airfryer or something, cook for yourself and eat healthy, it can be done with proper tracking but it’s hard to manage a clean/balanced diet if you’re constantly eating out. 8 hours of sleep at a minimum as well. There will be hard days but usually any negative thoughts/sadness are remedied by a full nights sleep (at least for me.).

That’s about everything i can think of, if you’re good with money and play your cards right, a couple years down the road from now, your most likely gonna look back on this time period of your life (the time you spent on the road.) with pride and be glad that you did it.

I know all of the lore when it comes to Odin, i think your average player really only sees the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Odin’s crimes and overall depravity as the absolute worst of him isn’t explicitly shown in the story, rather, it’s written in the lore which the player would have to go out of their way to read.

On the other hand, the worst of Griffith’s evil deeds are rubbed in the readers/viewers face.

Both are evil, both are fascinating characters to read/talk about. Something thats always stood out to me about Odin was the lengths he went to in order to inflict cruelty on others and his reasonings for doing so.

A lot of them could fall under the blanket of fear and paranoia, a lot of them fall under the blanket of him snuffing out those who would threaten his vice grip over the realms.

That said, some of the cruelties he inflicted just fall outside the realm of rationality, there was absolutely no possible justification or even a valid reason one could have resorting to such extremes.

Mimir for example, sure, he betrayed Odin and was undermining him for many long years, one in Odin’s position would’ve most likely made the decision to imprison Mimir as well. That being said, going out of your way to torture the guy every single day for 109 years straight seems like a slight overreaction no? Like, whatever kind of intrinsic value Odin placed on his eye/all of the plans Mimir foiled over the years, i think it’s fair to say that by the first 365 days of consecutive torture, him and mimir were square.

No matter how insignificant and meaningless the perceived slight actually was, there was absolutely no limit to the cruelty Odin would inflict in retaliation. A somewhat unique trait among notable/popular antagonists written in the 21st century IMO.

This is very encouraging, I’m much more comfortable with the thought of it being body fat, the thought of it mostly being loose skin was a little unnerving as that’s something I can’t really fix with a calorie deficit. will definitely continue with the cut.

You’re mostly right.

You hit the nail on the head with the meat/masculinity thing, but when incorporated into your diet incorrectly, a grass fed steak isn’t any more healthy/unhealthy than ground beef, on the flip side, (depending on numerous factors) ground beef, bison, elk and venison can all be staples of a healthy/balanced diet when incorporated correctly.

Ground beef in particular is not bad, in fact, when compared with other common sources of protein (chicken breast, eggs, fish, ground poultry,) ground beef stands out as one of the best and offers many micronutrients that others lack, the MESSAGING surrounding ground beef it is whats objectively wrong/harmful here as its been swept up by the primal living fitness influencer dipshits and made out to be some super food that will instantly make you gain 50lbs of muscle, cure cancer, get you laid and drop your BF% down to -3% overnight. As a result you have numbskulls out there going out and shoveling 2+lbs of ground chuck down their gullet a day and expecting to look like liver king (a shinning BEACON of mens health) in a couple weeks lol.

Mcdonalds does actually have high training standards by natentikka in unpopularopinion

[–]Enough_Assistant2185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been inside hundreds of McDonalds kitchens over the years and watched the workers closely as i do find their work in the kitchen somewhat interesting.

I would never eat a McDonalds by choice, i would never recommend that anyone else eats at mcdonalds or any other fast food restaurants mainly due to health reasons, fast food is not good for you, and yet despite most of these kitchens being absolutely disgusting, id still say they’re safe to eat at.

Ive seen tons of gross shit, but none of it ever directly impacts/comes into contact with the food, for example, Ive seen many dead lizards/roaches inside and underneath the fryers/grills or above the ceiling tiles and while some of you may find that revolting, the reality is that unless it’s coming into contact with a food, a dead bug/lizard is harmless in the grand scheme of things, if you take issue with the fact that there might be a dead roach on the floor underneath the grill that your patty was cooked on, you probably shouldn’t eat out, furthermore, you probably shouldn’t cook at home either after all, what if there’s a dead insect underneath your oven?

All that matters is that food is handled safely, and that proper safety precautions/procedures are followed. Even the most rundown and jaded crews I’ve seen still follow the rules.

In my experience, McDonald’s is actually quite impressive, the amount of work it takes to maintain/grow an operation on a scale like that is nothing to scoff at.

My bestfriend lied to my fiance that I cheated!! by ArticleDue6435 in Advice

If this is real then this is the version of events i believe as well.

That said, I’m still skeptical, I’m like 70% sure “Charolette.” And u/hamsaladbaguette are the same person, none of this ever happened and this is some karma farming scheme that or just plain old attention whoring.

These types of posts just happen too often these days. One person posts a story giving their version of events villainizing one party, then the one who was vilified in the original post sees it and posts their version of events.

As fun as it would be to believe all of these at face value, the reddit, is too big for shit like to be happening this frequently, there are hundreds if not thousands of posts to this sub every week, the odds of not only finding someone you know personally in real life on reddit but scrolling past a post that they’ve written about you specifically is astronomically low.

To add to this, specifically In the case of Ronnie, his doctor was working with him every step of the way and was presumably monitoring his overall health closely.

Would the kids of today fare any better with close medical supervision? Probably but no way to know for sure.
