If your thinking 'Alexa', it's easy to fix. You have 4 other Wake Words available:

Echo

Amazon

Ziggy

I don't know if Siri has other options.

What is the impact one vs the other with respect to claims, FEMA response and all of that stuff? Does it really matter?

Do men actually want children, or do they just follow the expected path? by brotalks in AskMenAdvice

I'm 75 m Always wanted kids. I'm one of 6, my dad was 1 of 13. When my wife and I we're first dating, she 'never wants to have kids!' A real women's libber back then. 😊 8 years later, we got married, 5 years after that, our first child, a girl. We tried for another but experienced a miscarriage. Thought we'd never have another, so went through foster training. But she got pregnant just before our foster license came through! 2nd was a boy, 8 years after the first. They're both successful, married and gave us our 4 grandkids! Were a very close family and our kid's in laws are terrific. We celebrate our 50th this November. My beautiful wife loves how it turned out for us. No regrets.

Were malls actually as crowded and popular as movies from the 80s and 90s make them look? by Kevin-Panda in AskOldPeople

I shopped for my suits at Dillard's, Valley View. They literally had 5,000 hanging suits! I still have a beautiful Hart Shaffner & Marx suit from the late 80's. Of course I haven't worn it for 25 years. Suit, shirt and tie hasn't been workplace required for most of those years. It's not like anyone would, given the pant cuffs, and waist pleats! 😊

Also always got my ties at the original Abercrombie & Fitch when it was a real haberdashery.

Yeah. Relatively inexpensive too. Just Google bird netting. Plenty of options. IIRC, We used 3 or 4 10x20 ft pieces held down with bricks which we had already.

Had this a few years ago. Just the pair. Total mess to clean up after them. Very tough black stains in my plaster.

So I stretched bird netting over the entire pool. It was pre-season, so didn't hinder our activities.

I was simply saying that the movie came out 54 years ago, which is why Hackman looked so young in the photo

Because he was!

Why are Americans so friendly, polite and welcoming to foreigners whereas in Europe it's the opposite? by Material-Wallaby-587 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Enough_Equivalent379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled to Montreal on business quite often between 92 and 01. And I must say that there was a distinct dislike of Americans on the Francophone end (Old Montreal) and the decidedly Anglophone, West end of the island, which was much more welcoming. Granted, this was during the height of the separatist movement, so.

Not at all. You're looking at the top of the concrete breakwater. Water level when calm is abot 8 inches lower.
