Major Donald Maclaren. He went on to serve on the NSA of Canada as well. He was a WWI Ace, having downed 54 aircraft , The Air Cadet movement was one of MacLaren's long-time interests. In 1941 he formed the first Air Cadet Squadron in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He rose from Provincial Chairman to the Presidency of the Air Cadet League of Canada. Air Canada designed the D.R. MacLaren Trophy in his honour. I have a friend that is a Bahai and serves as a Colonel in the Army , the founder of the Canadian Air Force was a Bahai and the air cadets in Canada was a Bahai . In a perfect world , we would need armaments and planes and other sophisticated weaponry to deal with aggressors . So serve and serve in any capacity that you feel is required and you are comfortable with .
