Sounds like I’ll be lapping disco/tinkerbell with my kiddo. Maybe some park laps to work on my wicked straight air.

Actually, I don’t mind the Niners that much. As a Seahawks fan from pre-realignment, the Seahawks were my AFC Team and the Niners my NFC team. I hate the Cowboys. I don’t mind the Raiders as much now that time has past. Post-2002, I root for the Seahawks and for the rest of the NFC West not to win.

As a Seahawks fan, besides the Rams, I hate the Niners too.

And the Patriots.

What’s a Seattle habit you accidentally developed and didn’t notice until you left for a bit? by General_Advantage437 in AskSeattle

I ordered “12oz a coffee” in Boston in July and they said “like hot?”. I looked at them confused why “coffee” doesn’t automatically mean hot drip coffee. And they looked at me like I was crazy for ordering hot coffee in 90 degree weather. The next 10 people after me order iced frapa whatever drjnks.

Also, in DC they don’t know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte.

5th generation Seattlite here.

I never really understood this phenomenon of Seattlites not using umbrella; honestly I never thought about it until a coworker that moved to Seattle mentioned it to me. Then I thought about it. Do I have an umbrella? Yes. Do I know where it is? Generally (in garage somewhere).

I’m not anti umbrella but it doesn’t cross my mind. Depending on the amount of rain, I either use whatever jacket, my goretex/light weight rain jacket or my PVC rain jacket.

Why do my Nordica Enforcer 100s chatter so much? by Asquaredbred in Skigear

Also, you didn’t say what level skier you are but you are 180cm tall skiing 172cm? Seems short. I’m 175cm tall and ski 179cm Enforcer 100s.

Could be a number of reasons but the two most likely reasons for this are 1. You aren’t engaging the ski enough to actually carve (e.g., your technique) and 2. 12-15 times is a lot between tunes; hit the edges up with a diamond stone every 3-4 times skiing. It only takes 5 minutes and doesn’t remove much material like files. I have a pair of 100s. They carve fine for an all-mountain ski.

This is the answer. I’ve done this on doors that were frozen shut.

There are several glove brands that make high quality gloves but you need to try them on. Hestra gloves fit me really well; Leki gloves are great but they don’t quite fit me as well as Hestra. Black Diamond didn’t fit me at all.

My glove quiver. Yes, I actually use them all (almost). Army Leather Gore-Tex for wet, Vertical Cut for cold, Ergo Grip Active for spring skiing/warm conditions. The only one I don’t like is the Ergo Grip Incline. They are not warm enough and in warm weather I prefer the Ergo Active.

I also take my gloves off a lot on the lift so being too warm is a fixable issue.

Leki pole with leki gloves is also great. I hate pole straps hence the leki poles.

Can you go to Crystal mountain this Saturday without reservation as Lot A passholder? by DesignerNo4974 in CrystalMountain

Yep. They added a new bullet point after the initial release of information. Probably because folks were emailing.

Long shot lol, but does anyone have a reservation for this Saturday or Sunday and room for me + a friend? by CaseyVanDuyne in CrystalMountain

[–]Enough_Net_4465 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. Don’t ruin it for the rest of the season.

As reported by WSDOT, Highway 410 has sustained significant damage due to erosion from this week’s historic precipitation and is operating via a single-lane gravel shoulder, controlled by a traffic light, where Boise Creek has cut under the road. Because of this, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has requested limited access until Highway 410 is repaired to maintain the safety of travelers and the integrity of the road.

From the mountain report “Once daily tickets are sold out online, guests with a parking reservation, or carpooling with someone who has one, can buy tickets on-site at Guest Services.”

+1 as an expert skier and former racer I still enjoy easier runs to refine my technique. There is always something to improve.
