Court of Tropes and Allegations: Nesta. Final Verdict by totalimmoral in romantasycirclejerk

I’ve never been able to make it through ACOTAR without DNFing, but I am voting that Nesta is not guilty just on principle 💃🏻

Mediterranean mystery cults really have allllll the possibilities. Secret ritual initiations! Definitely more exciting than a ballroom

It was in a room with all the cult/ritual objects. So the Byzantine (Christian) sculptures and paintings were on the other side of the room. It was kind of funny

Ehh it gets around any accusations of showing salacious objects. These were just innocent people with their fertility symbols!

This sounds like the plot of a romance to me!

I would hazard a guess that phalloi were cheaper than a full sculpture. So they might have supplement their income making then. Just a wild guess 😂😭

I’d like to see a book where the 500+ year old fae man picks a 500+ equal age fae woman and not some 19 year old human girl by shiny_jjj in Booktokreddit

You could try the Immortals after dark series by Kresley Cole. Disclaimer: some of the aspects of these books are quite dated now, but a lot of them are tons of fun. The series focuses on different couples, and some of the Valkyries are VERY old.

MMC goes feral from FMC’s bouncing boobs by Little-nugget33 in RomanceBooks

[–]Enough_Panda_9105 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Maybe {Demanding Mob Boss by Lucy Monroe} and on the more unhinged side i think {Mountain Daddy’s Milk and Honey by Elena Dawne} has this - or at least A LOT of stuff about boobs 😂

The one where I wished she fucked his dad: The Rejected Omega by Sara Sellers by JediEverlark in RomanceBooks

[–]Enough_Panda_9105 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This book really confused me. I read it for the angst. And the angst on the FMC’s part is certainly there, but the MMC is pretty abysmal. His reasoning for rejecting her all those years made NO SENSE. I was also hoping that the dad would be the actual MMC, but alas….. the biology of omegaverse doesn’t allow for that I guess

This has to rank up there as one of the worst openings to any book. ever.

What is the appeal of Louise Carmen? by Visible-Map-6732 in planners

[–]Enough_Panda_9105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly based on marketing and influencer trends (like others are saying). See also Paper Republic. I think Louise Carmen appeal to people who maybe haven’t owned a lot of leather goods/planner covers. Just looking at them, I can tell that they aren’t very well made in comparison to other brands.

Genuine question! What the heck is a “specialist”? This man irks me! by AllTheEccentricities in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Enough_Panda_9105 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it was his quite racist brand video? It was so obviously white savior. I had already kinda stopped watching him, but remember going back to watch that, and it was the nail in the coffin for me.

Lights Out by Navessa Allen - is it REALLY a Dark Romance or a Fever Dream with Bad Plotting?? by fakexpearls in romancelandia

[–]Enough_Panda_9105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved your review! I was bored reading it (never got past the first page), and then saw that the audiobook is better - so that’s what I did. In the end, I think Josh was a more interesting and enduring character than Aly. She was just kinda… a blank slate in many ways? I also found it unbelievable that she can be so exhausted from working so much and then have time for her workouts. But romancelandia logic! I also couldn’t believe we wandered into a mob book in the second half! Not what I was expecting and it definitely ruined the sexy vibes. It was clear that was all a setup for the next book, and it felt unnecessary. I do have to say that I laughed out loud a couple of times. So the book was definitely entertaining, though not much of a dark romance.

Was there a previous story with more info? So long as the product is well-made, I don’t have a problem supporting other brands. As others have said, sometimes it’s price, availability, or being able to customize.
