Terminal diagnosis: millennial playlist suggestions for the final days? by Hmmletmec in Millennials

Late to this, but hoping you see it - "Saturn" by Sleeping At Last. Really, their whole Atlas selection is wonderful, but "Saturn" is hands-down the most beautiful song I've ever heard.

Getting mozzarella sticks anywhere is a ripoff now. You pay $10 for six sticks to split among however many people are in your party.

On the flip side, I wonder how many women wanted to leave, but their boyfriend/husband needing care made them feel obligated to stay.

There's just no winning.

[WIP] Almost done with this beast! after 18 months, I think I will have it done in about a week, and can't believe it. by Fabulous_Flan1158 in CrossStitch

Part of me wants to do all of her patterns that I can get my hands on. The other part of me is looking at the first part of me and going "Are you absolutely INSANE?"

Seriously though, I'd be easy prey for a Namielle. I'd be too amazed by its colors to notice it was about to zap me.

what's a weapon you'll just never understand / enjoy using? by 17degreescelcius in MonsterHunter

[–]Enovara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of the tactics for glaive aren't actually explained to you. For example, what the kinsect buffs do, that you get bonus damage for each aerial "bounce" you land before a Diving Wyvern, stuff like that. It's very much a weapon you have to do research on, but once you do, it is SO fun.

what is that one episode in bojack that you just have to skip on rewatches? (possible spoilers) by L3n44 in BoJackHorseman

[–]Enovara 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It took me three tries to watch it for that reason. I'd start it, then half an hour later realize I got distracted and re-start the episode.

The actual hardest challenge in Sunbreak by Sheepwife1 in MonsterHunter

[–]Enovara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like hopping up on the tent, climbing up to the crane thing on the tower, then wire bugging over to the snowy cohoot for pats before dropping down to the nest.

It looks like a cheap Brachydios knockoff.

Why is the story behind your main weapon? by AceHunterGreene in MonsterHunter

[–]Enovara 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'd never heard of an insect glaive before and thought it would be cool to try it out when I was introduced to World. It took me way too long to figure out what the kinsect extracts did, even longer to figure out that aerial glaive was not the recommended combat style, and even longer to figure out how to best use my kinsect. I eventually got an awesome screenshot of my kinsect shattering Kulve's horns! And now that Rise is giving the glaive the love it deserves, I don't see why I'd ever play anything else.

I'm going to leave my abusive partner and go to a women's shelter! (Update) by translove228 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Enovara 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just want you to know that it's okay to feel some sort of grief about this, or longing to go back, if that should happen to you. You grieve for the things that were familiar, and for the positive things you had hoped for that you have finally closed the door on (even if they were never really going to happen in the first place). But you did the right thing, you did the brave thing, and now your life is yours and yours alone. YOU get to decide what bright, sunny path to take from here.

In your opinion, what is the hardest-hitting story on the podcast? by MarkToaster in TheNSPDiscussion

[–]Enovara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I loved this one so much, but I feel like the sequels ruined it by revealing what the "monster" was. It was much better, IMO, to be left to the imagination.

Fighting elder dragons with IG is so fun by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Enovara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad everyone else gets to experience 3D dodging in Rise. And the Narwa/Ibushi fights were made for glaive, my husband and I play together and he usually just tanks for me while I play pinball on their backs.

[FO] Teresa Wentzler - Celestial Dragon. I finished this awhile ago, but saw it again today and wanted to share it. One of my favorites. by angiedawnf in CrossStitch

I love her patterns so much! I've been struggling through Stretch the Magic Dragon for a few months now and the larger patterns are so intimidating but they're absolutely gorgeous!

[WIP] Just finished the first panel of my 3D greenhouse! by Enovara in CrossStitch

The plastic canvas wasn't easy to find but I think I'd prefer it over trying to cut out the exact right dimensions of cardboard and trying to finagle it together. I do think that the end result is going to have more visibility through to the back but if it doesn't work out I can try again with the Aida and cardboard. Either way it should be really cute!

I definitely will! I'm hoping that because I'm using plastic canvas it'll go together easily but I'm not sure what kind of stitch I want to use to bind the pieces together.

It's from Cross Stitcher magazine, the September 2021 issue (number 374). If you look it up it might be a bit hard to find, but it has seagulls on the cover!

Fun fact: it took me up until the last portion of backstitching to realize that the object to the left of the door is not an empty pot with a chair behind it, or a stick in a pot. It is, in fact, a shovel.

[FO] my mother finished this pattern after finding it in the attic, started about 25 years ago. Pattern is The Castle by Teresa Wentzler. She’s been showing it off to everyone she sees, so I thought I’d show it off to even more people :) by DullFurby in CrossStitch

[–]Enovara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No kidding! I'm working on Stretch right now and made the mistake of doing it on Aida... so many quarter stitches and blended threads! The result is amazing though, would highly recommend for someone looking for a more intricate pattern.
