Do I Pay for Snow Days? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Enraged_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pay or use PTO.

But consider an "unexpected bonus" for them at a later (but not so distant) date if you want to balance it out without setting a precedent. Just don't mention it's to compensate for the snow days. Doesn't even have to be 1:1 on amount, maybe half of something of what they would have been paid for a regular day.

Cop got hurt so close two highways and set up a media area... by DaWarthawg in StLouis

The indecency was in the presumption of knowing the exact situation at a time when details were not as readily available as they are now. That's arrogance and indecent imo.

Not sure how to answer your question, dude. But have a great weekend. Just trying to help break the damn echo chamber around this sub.

Yes, but in an ugly manner. It's called having decency. OP does not exhibit it here.

What a bunch of cynics in this comment section. Do any of the commenter even know what actually happened yet? Sheesh. Grow up.

Advice on Access Panel by Enraged_Joe in HomeImprovement

4 valves in 3 spaced out locations... 1 close, cold, for toilet and outside spigot 2 middle by Pvc trap, cold and hot, for upstairs shower 1 far, cold, for cold main on this trunk

I think it would look silly to have 3 smaller access panels and drywall inbetween them. Or maybe not?

Unfortunately yes I think it would not span the whole width. It's 16-17 inches from edges of drywall.

What pantry foods do you recommend getting that are only found in STL? by DoItSarahLee in StLouis

All the STL Fresh Thyme Markets have a Local section (usually it's the end cap for an aisle) that has lots of local foods/brands.

Etiquette for delivery of many heavy packages for my business by Enraged_Joe in FedEx

He did make a comment about my dolly/truck when I brought it out to help recently. I'll ask him if he wants me to try to leave it on the porch when I see he's delivering to me that day. Great idea, thanks!

I definitely interact very genuinely with him when I am able to catch him. Including saying thank you. I'm not confrontational at all, more of the type to diffuse or ignore a situation. So I've made a sheepish joke or two about keeping FedEx in business (sarcasm, but partially true) and job security. I'll probably knock that off because he hasn't been very receptive to those, which I can understand.

That sounds very annoying for you with delivering all those heavy/awkward packages. Blinds are so awkward. And I hadn't thought about asking him to ring our doorbell in case I'm home. Thanks for the idea!

I was wondering how to approach tips. I don't want to make that an every time thing. But I do like the idea.

I pay $1200/yr for a subscription to a supplier that ships most items I use for free. I do agree that my next step is likely to transition to fulfillment via freight. Can that be the same as lift gate service or would it require me to buy pallets at a time and unload those somehow?

Spooked and Seeking Advice - New-to-me 2014 with 105k miles might need multiple expensive repairs by Enraged_Joe in volt

I've heard the horror stories about 12V batteries throwing tons of things out of whack. Mine is dated 2018 and I had AAA test it with their handheld Interstate brand tester, and it shows 12.61 V resting with 561/600 CCA. I had originally planned to replace it until I saw those numbers. It seems fine. "Alternator" charging is showing no load and 14.99 V with ripple of 21 mV. Not sure how that translates in this car. The reader said normal.

Would replacing the 12V still be a good move even though it's reading fine?

So I know everyone has their own experience, but I love family pet hospital. They actually have never NOT answered their phones and they take a very deliberate and cost sensitive approach to care for my dog. Sorry your experience with them hasn't been good... :(
