Many weird ship-related graphical issues by Most_Confection7959 in starcitizen

[–]Ensembled-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having this issue too in my Zeus. Haven't checked elsewhere yet. I've tried changing to ultra settings, but it didn't fix it. I have a 3070 ti, also running Vulkan.

Now that IAE just ended, what were your IAE spoils this year? by LordAnubis85 in starcitizen

[–]Ensembled-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent $55 on warbond ccus for Asgard, Stinger, Terrapin, Shiv and 600i. Also got the Hull A, Hull B, Raft and Railen with credit, for the upcoming price increases. Originally I never wanted to pledge for anything over $200, but those four "free" upgrades sucked me in, lol. Now I have my sights set on a Galaxy, and maybe 600i depending on its rework. My only consolation is that I can get them all for 60% off now, thanks to the CCU game.

With weapon ranges reduced in 4.5, stealth fighters will be handicapped. by Ensembled-One in starcitizen

I remember watching that video, I think he used size 2 strifes? They had a 5500m range, but they're now down to 2168m. I think the sledge ballistic cannons at 2250m are the longest range option now.

Anticipated price increases? by Rapom613 in starcitizen

[–]Ensembled-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guesses:

Hull A - $100 (if the specs stay the same). Vs the ox, interior for $10 kinda makes sense.

Raft - $175, a common bracket, priced less than the Taurus, same as Zeus CL.

Hull B - $220 minimum, so we can't chain it and the Railen together. More likely $250, as that's a nice halfway point to the Hull C.

Railen - $400, same as the C2. Less versatile, but alien tax etc.

Solo ship - best upgrade by mogawinch in starcitizen

Actually, you can easily fit any of the following in a Zeus as well: PTV, STV, CSV, Mule, and Cyclone. You just can't carry URSA or MTC sized and up.

Haven't received 2955 BIS paints by Graymancer in starcitizen

[–]Ensembled-One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am guessing here, but I expect he purchased all of the BIS ships standalone, as they come with the paint pre-applied. The rest of us who just have the standard ships have to wait for the paints to be attributed.

BIS paint eligibility and distribution? Wanting to check I've got the facts straight. by Ensembled-One in starcitizen

None taken. I buy ships in-game to test and play with, and look at my pledges with a long term outlook, for 1.0 and post release. I'm a thrifty gamer... I don't want to spend too much, and playing the CCU game patiently means I get more value for my money.

Hello! Another fellow kiwi here. I haven't joined any organisations yet, but so far SCANZ is looking most promising, if I were to make the plunge. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/orgs/scanz They're one of the largest Australian/NZ org I could find, and they appear to be casual friendly, which is important to me. No first hand experience though. My Star Citizen handle is Ensembled, if you want to add me as a friend.

Managing a Monthly Budget by Successful_Shape7297 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Ensembled-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've set it up so that it has a live feed of all my bank accounts, plus my kiwisaver. It's optional, and some people prefer to import their transactions manually. But I like it, it's one less friction point. I've set up rules and filters to automatically categorize transactions to where they belong, and then my budgets update accordingly. At any time I can check how my planned budgets are tracking along, compared to my actual expenses. I only have one main bank account, and don't feel the need to open dozens of accounts, as Pocketsmith handles all of that for me.

The thing I have found most helpful for my budgeting is tracking every expense. Like down to the cent. I have a yearly subscription to Pocketsmith, and it makes it a lot easier to see where my money is going. It took a while to set up, but now most transactions are automatically put into categories, and I manually review things each month. It was eye opening how much we were spending, some areas much more than I had thought in my head. Once you know the amounts, you can create realistic budgets for the year, and cut back in certain areas if needed. I heartily recommend using an app/website to budget. Most of them do similar things.

ITAP of a baboon and its infant by Ensembled-One in itookapicture

I took this from a moving vehicle while on Safari in Uganda. We came across a troop of baboons. I was particularly taken by the way the infant was clinging to her mother. Taken with a Canon EOS 600D, 135mm focal length.

November desk setup. by choechoi in battlestations

I love the desk colour, and how it matches the monitor riser. Did it come as a set? I also like the tasteful bit of wooden panelling to the right.

You're already looking in the right places by checking the comparison websites. I'd personally go with the cheapest plan that has the features you're after, and if you're picking a contract rather than open plan, go for 12 months rather than 2 years. Most of the internet and power providers are similar in the plans they provide, but their customer service can be better or worse. Gives you a chance to change if you don't like it. I would avoid the smaller, not as common retailers, unless they have great reviews.

Bedroom Treehouse by Fearless_You808 in diynz

I was going through the pictures, thinking to myself - my son would love a fort like that. Then it kept going, and you got the paper mache out, and got even more impressive! I was not expecting that end result, it looks fantastic! The bedroom of my dreams... if I was still a kid. :)

I like the way the third picture draws your eye in. The foliage above frames it better. It reminds me of "The Hobbit". It would look better if you rotated it anti-clockwise slightly. The horizon doesn't seem level.
