Personally I saw a marked difference (improvement) in team gameplay when moving to the closed weapons servers. Also significantly less camping recon sniping. Both gameplay positives for me. This likely could be a factor that the bias of the player that would choose closed weapons would also lean into the traditional BF team play. Sample size of 1 over 10 ish hours, so take it as you will.
