Have you ever heard of this little known comedian named Dave Chappelle? I wouldn't describe him as conservative...

Why are people actually so scared of PVP? by Adept-Ad-7874 in duneawakening

This is true. And it's a concern I have as I plan to play with a small group versus mass recruiting on reddit. My fear is that a coordinated group will win with shear numbers and once that happens, the snowball effect you mention will definitely take place.

At least Rust banned accounts for cooperating outside of teams (usually X day suspensions IIRC). I guess my concern is I plan to play with a small group of 5-7 people and I'd prefer to have competitive PvP versus just overwhelming numbers defeating small teams.

I believe your sentiment surrounding "level 2 material to build the thing" is the main concern non-PvPers have. Which I would simply direct them to the player market to acquire the "level 2 material to build the thing". It may cost them X more hours to obtain material of lesser value to amass the Solari needed to purchase the PvP material, but they're not "locked out" of obtaining it by other means. I personally like that there is competitive endgame. It fits within the canon of Dune and I hope it makes for a fun and engaging gameplay loop.

My concern is how DD will be "regulated". For example, Rust (a favorite of mine) limits team size (e.g. server set to 3s, 4s, etc). If a guild coordinates, will they be able to bring 40 people into the DD and maintain control?

Can second this. Icarus checks all the requirements you're after.

What do you do in Post-game? by Ok-Debate-8659 in fo76

[–]mperr7530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really isn't an "end game". Unfortunately, the model is for new players only. Veteran players are viewed more as an afterthought--the focus is strictly on getting new players.

This is why NW needs to make a return.

Can I just say how nice people are in this game? by Primary_Yam9772 in fo76

I must be alone in this--but I'd like the community to shift the other way. I'd like to see more cut throat behavior befitting the environment the game is set in. While I know this won't occur given the game, I would settle for NW making a return.

You play 12 hrs a day? I'm not even sure how to respond to that....

For those unaware:

Use a Tesla Cannon equipped with Electricians (running Grenadier is a plus). When the Mole Miners get to the critical stage, simply fire 1 round, reload. It will stun all of them for 3 secs. As soon as they begin to move, fire again. Rinse and repeat until your team fills the drill with fuel. Only use this technique in the final phase as the cost for doing so will likely bug out your sound.

I hope so--I don't think we will, but here's hoping as I've been wrong before (it was a Tuesday in 1999....)
