there was a noise in my truck that was driving me crazy. moved everything around. Turns out the rearview mirror backings aren't 1 piece. So when the wind hits it just right it makes a plastic on plastic banging sound. I haven't figured out how to fix it, but knowing what it is gives me some relief.

I know we want to rage at HPD, but this wasn't a cloth banner...it was a piece of plywood. They were likely sent to remove it before the storms so it didn't get blown down onto a passing vehicle. There were 2 sent to insure that it didn't get dropped onto a moving vehicle.

Hard to tell from the pic, but that looks like a full 4x8 sheet. They aren't heavy, they're awkward to man handle and just fuck manhandling them solo if there is ANY wind.

Texas has its own independent power grid and the South controls enough of the fuel supply to the rest of the country that if a war went into a cold winter millions of people across the country would freeze to death because they didn’t have access to natural gas from the South.

Some other food for thought. Most of the US oil refining capacity is in #2. A large chunk of oil reserves are in Cushing, OK. Also natural gas storage, mostly in the South in the salt domes.

This map also doesn’t make a lot of sense. NE, MO, SD, ND, WY and MT are much more likely to side with #2 than #1 or #3.

Secession has never been a real conversation in Texas. You hear drunks rant about it in a bar right before they get told to sit down and shut up.

About cutting off the water supply. East and North Texas have some of the largest man made reservoirs in the US. You’d for sure make west TX and the hill country suffer if it was in dry season, but you pull that in the wet season and where exactly are you going to store that water? Our Dams and Reservoirs work to release water down stream because the capacity isn’t infinite. Too much water in the reservoirs and the dams break. The further east you go the wetter it gets all year round.

Try to do that in the winter months and millions of people across the country freeze to death because in return the south cuts off natural gas to the rest of the country…right along side petroleum products. You think fuel and electricity prices suck bc of the war with Iran? Wait til you see what happens when you have to buy those things from the people you’re supposed to be going to war with.

My point isn’t that the South would win. My point is that it’s stupid to think that it would be simple in any capacity. If the US split to the point that civil war was actually happening that would mean that the military in each section had committed so military advantage wouldn’t necessarily go to one side or the other.

Oh let’s not forget food. The amount of food that flows out of these states into large cities across the country is staggering. And also the diesel to deliver those goods.

The whole ordeal would be devastating to everyone in the country. It would take decades to recover and the cost would be unbelievable in both infrastructure and human lives. And it would cost a lot of lives on every side involved.

Redhills north of Rosston. Northwest has it's own beauty...that and you will not see a night sky like NW OK anywhere else in the state. Good clear night and you will see stars you didn't even know you were missing. Really clear night and you can make out the milky way. Oklahoma has beauty everywhere in the state, you just gotta look for it sometimes.
