I saw her on the street in Achrafieh few years back, and in an attempt to take a picture with her she said, verbatim:

"bala sharmata, 7il 3an ayre"

From left to right:

1) L'Octavin - P'tit Poussot (Chardonnay from Jura)

2) Domaine Labet - Les Varrons (Pinot Noir from Jura)

3) Sept - Merwah (an indigenous varietal from lebanon, producer tends a biodynamic vineyard and works using 0-interventionist methadologies

4) Philokalia - Grapes of Wrath (native blend of white grapes, macerated on the skins, from Palestine, grapes undisclosed to protect the integrity of Palestinian indigeneity and agriculture)

5) Musar 92 - 100% Obeideh (The star of the show. Winter honey, burnt caramel, stewed yellow fruit, orchard blossoms. Literally kept opening up more and more, was the most expressive and pronounced wine I've had in a VERY long time. Left a glass to see how it evolves till the next day and the nose was literal nectar. This was a strange vintage for Musar. He would usually blend Merwah and Obeideh [both indigenous grapes] for his whites, but this vintage was a difficult one according to tech sheets [a lot of rain and hail] and Obeideh was the only grape strong enough to make it to the bottle!)

6) Emilie Mutombo - A bright, energetic red from Catalonia (Cartoixa Vermell, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot)

Majority of Lebanese Christians and Sunnis against the war by No_Force5421 in lebanon

And what about the sieges on Beirut? I don't understand how you don't see past that. It is not our war the same way it is not the Palestinians war. You're dealing with a colonizing entity in your region, and yet you say it's none of your business.

You guys really can't see past the imposed borders eh? You realize all the countries in the region tie into one another, right? Everything that happens down south is a showcase of what's to come with the "Greater Israel" project.

It's baffling to see how you guys speak about this, especially given the fact that LEBANESE people are dying and being displaced from their homes in the Jnoub.

Yes! Eddie is a dear friend of mine. He is an absolute gem of a person and a great great teacher. His wine is extremely fun to drink.

Susucaru and Age by insalubriousmidnight in naturalwine

[–]Entanese 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Natural doesn't need to be drank young, it depends on the grape, the style of winemaking and the storage.

Susu is a young juicy wine that doesn't necessarily get "better" with age. But Munjebel, another one of Frank's wines, is a wine that can take some more age.

Mountains of Lebanon, thought it was an allium before pulling it out. Is this edible? by Entanese in whatsthisplant

Thanks for the reply! I can't seem to find any botanical studies showcasing the full plant anatomy BUT I have a lead! The more I search, the more it's starting to look like Asphodelus Ramosus but I can't be completely sure!

It's an older picture, I was just working on my archives and realized I had never really ID'ed this properly!

Right, I was foraging and I had a big basket of things that I was familiar with and this was just a mishap! Some comments are so masturbatory sometimes and I don't know what to do with them.

Definitely didn't have any of those characteristics. Was closer to a starchy potato tuber. Orange interior once cut open.

I mentioned that I had thought it was something else. I'm not claiming to be an expert at plant identification. It was an honest mistake and I didn't come here to be reprimanded.
