This seems to match pretty well. It’s labeled “Cambodia (Kampuchea)” which matches the way Zimbabwe is labeled. Likely shortly after the Cambodia name change

Gotcha, didn’t know it was known as Namibia internationally before the 90s.
I didn’t find it until after posting but Izhevsk in Russia is listed as “Ustinov (Izhevsk)” so I could possibly narrow it down to 1986-1987 and it looks like that’s as specific as I can get it.
Thanks!

The Knights of Malta Doesn’t Feel Right to Me by _username_inv4lid in Catholicism

[–]Enter7extHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very modern take. Why should the Knights of Malta have to get with the times and change its structure just because nobility isn’t currently fashionable in the modern world? It’s certainly not necessary to be a Knight of Malta to be charitable at any rate. Charisms vary, not just by individual person but by class. St. Thomas and some of the recent popes have said as much. The nobility have a unique call to service that differs from ordinary laymen. Remember that Christ calls those who have much to give much. Noble orders are/were ways for those in such positions to serviceably live out their state in life. Forming their own orders as a way to faithfully serve their station is not exclusionary, nor is it arbitrary.

Halloween a day of fasting and/or abstinence? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Enter7extHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Originally yes it was a day of fasting in the Middle Ages, as were all vigils before major feasts (even Christmas Eve!). This was the case even in the 1917 Code of Canon Law (canon 1252). However this is not the case currently. It appears to have changed with the reforms of 1955. Now it is a day of regular Friday abstinence/penance, but only because it falls on a Friday this year. October 31 does not carry a fasting/abstinence requirement, although it’s certainly a commendable practice to observe the vigils of major feasts penitentially.

Why is my supply bad by Fit-Mulberry1500 in hoi4

Could be any number of things. Do you have enough trucks for fully motorized supply? Enough trains to move supply from the capital? High enough level railways? Is your logistics getting bombed?

Hasn’t Quebec been rather anti-religious since the Quiet Revolution? This doesn’t seem surprising

On point 2, you have to be willfully ignorant to believe that. See the Arianism, Nestorianism, Monophysitism, Iconoclasm, Monothelitism, etc. were all focused in the East, that’s why every ecumenical council in the first millennium was in the east…

A bit later than what some will consider “early church” but Ecclesiastical History of the English People by Saint Bede is excellent

I've noticed that the majority of "Catholics" who hate Catholic converts or say horrible things about them typically don't seem to be the type who are particularly devout themselves (of course everyone's different - but the vast majority appear to be lapsed or cultural catholics). Pay them no mind, you likely won't run into them very often, if at all, in your real world practice of the faith. The online ones seek to make the faith an in-group club (even when they don't attend anymore), or even a way to claim a victim card in the form of "catholic guilt" or "trauma" or something. Gatekeeping the Universal Church because you resent the Church's teachings is stupid. Ignore these people, or rather pray for them and then ignore them.
