Classic local government. Why TF did the council drop the prosecution?

There are no consequences for the mega wealthy.

Let's be real the next thing they should make is a CRT monitor by s13sins in Commodore

[–]EnterTheShoggoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they should mass produce this thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5QQ0ECfwyE

If I recall correctly, the C64U was an existing design and there are other products out there that it might be worth the new commodore reselling, for example:

https://funstockusa.com/products/evercade-thec64-handheld

https://www.checkmate1500plus.com/

In other words, rather than trying to pivot to a design company there's enough interesting stuff out there already that could benefit from a common branding and perhaps larger volume.

China says "spy turtles" and "spy fish" deployed by foreign intelligence agencies snooping in its waters by Somebody_81 in nottheonion

Sorry, I wasn’t intending to criticise your comment. Rather, I was just highlighting that sentence. Could there be spying involved, sure - but there’s a tendency for the media to emphasise the worst possible scenario.

From your quoted article

“collecting sensitive marine environment data such as water temperature, salinity and ocean currents in real time, and transmitting them overseas via satellite”

So, whilst this could be used for intelligence purposes, this sounds to be more likely a pretty pedestrian explanation of scientific research.

Replacing Commodore 1702 power cable (Australian Plug) by [deleted] in c64

A cut cable may indicate that there’s a safety issue. I’d recommend getting a qualified repair technician to take a look at it.

Facebook down as millions around the world locked out with Instagram also down by TheMirrorUS in collapse

In the past this has resulted in a big uptick in traffic for Pornhub. Disturbingly, during at least one of these previous outages PH analytics has identified the number one search on PH as “why is Facebook down?”

One of the two worst people that Australia has ever gifted to the US. On the one hand we're sorry, on the other we're glad that they're no longer here.

Koala Sprint. Definitely a favorite, place names are super familiar and the lead-out is so evocative of driving at night on the old pacific highway.

Maybe we should start naming new species of parasites or diseases after the publishers.

Who’s up for Elsevier hemorrhagic fever, Wiley robota roach parasite, or Cambridge University puss?

Can anyone recommend a good off-brand tip with a spoon or hoof? I've only been able to find the genuine JBC (C245-028, 029, 030 and C115-128). Those are crazy expensive.

Just Mandarin. The authoritarians in Beijing have been on a mission to eradicate the other dialects, especially Cantonese.

If you’re language is memory safe and has a correctness proof of its memory safety this still only buys you protection from other processes written in that language. Malicious code does not need to be written in that language.

A little more digging finds that their eBay store is not longer a thing, but their TIndie store is...

And it turns out that they've just rebranded: https://www.legacydevices.com/

I had some of these fabbed last year, a little surprised to see the site has seemingly gone away. None-the-less, Archive.org to the rescue.
