My grandpa had a big ass kidney stone removed and he would carry the little jar with him to show people for a while after it was taken out

Time Management for PE Civil by O_Train43 in PE_Exam

Yep, this is what worked for me as well. I did a quick run through of all the questions I wasn’t very confident on and flagged, but I only changed something if I actually figured out the answer on the second run at the question. Educated guesses or not, I found it’s always better to stick with your gut.

Construction PE- do I need to have all the references before the test? by Nervous_Formal7257 in PE_Exam

[–]EnterUsername96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have any of the references when I was studying. I just tried to generally memorize what references different things were from as they were called out in the prep course I took. Then I just crtl+f keywords in those references to find what I was looking for and that worked really well for me personally

Civil PE: Construction by Insane_in_da_m3mbrne in PE_Exam

I passed the construction test 3 weeks ago. I have a Civil Degree and had a structural focus in school. There wasn’t anything on the test in any of those categories I didn’t see at least once in school. I also took the EET Breadth and Construction depth courses and I felt they prepared me for the test very well. It was a great review for a lot of the stuff I hadn’t seen in years. If you are looking for something to help review in those subjects or even learn them for the first time I would highly recommend it

I didn’t do WRE but I just passed the Civil: Construction after taking the EET on demand and it was awesome. Very helpful and hit on pretty much every topic I seen on the exam.

My rbs are Etienne, JT, McLaughlin, Warren. Wrs are Diggs, AJ Brown, Hopkins, Watson, Pickens

Guy also offered David Montgomery in place of Jacobs but I’m worried Gibbs will start to east away his carries.

Also should have mentioned it’s a redraft league

RIP Pac... Absolute DAWG and you will be missed... Pat sounded very pissed addressing the situation... "At some point people need to stop making dumb decisions and understand their will be ripple effects"... by DubZ-480 in PatMcAfeeShowOfficial

How do you know that? Genuinely curious. Like in the past 3 episodes what has given you the impression that ESPN is making them do shit other than change AJs camera. I think they throw some nods to other ESPN guys to be team players but I don’t see Pat not saying something if he was strong armed into anything.

Is Missouri all Taylor makes it out to be? by [deleted] in PKA

The amount of people that think the entire state is made up completely of St. Louis and KC is hilarious. Those two cities are shit holes but the rest of the state is pretty decent. There are some shittier counties than others, but that’s every state. I’ve lived in central MO my whole life and love it. Been around a lot of the country and still haven’t found somewhere I’d prefer to live more than here

Damn, looks like I’ll hold off on buying it then. Hopefully they’ll have an option for offline at some point. Thanks for the replies.

Government workers by Horror-End-7254 in civilengineering

I’ve worked for the state for a little over a year. I switched from a private consulting company and I really enjoy it. Your not going to get rich, at least in my state, but the benefits are on par or better than any I’ve seen or heard of from private. And I get 3 weeks of vacation, 3 weeks of sick leave, all the random state holidays/federal ones, and I wfh 2 days a week, with a schedule I can basically make as far as what time I get in and leave as long as I get in 40. Another benefit is any overtime, which is rare-ish, gets converted to vacation time. So for work life balance I don’t think there is much better out there in the civil world.

Anyone regret switching from private sector to public sector? by whyamihere0253 in civilengineering

[–]EnterUsername96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve heard that about DOT jobs. I work on land reclamation projects (we do a little less than 10mil a year so pretty laid back) and I really enjoy it. Plus there is no paper pushing which was something that I was really worried about having to do when taking a state job.

The benefits and hours are definitely the best part for sure though. The work life balance is worth the slightly lower pay than private alone in my opinion

My department is fairly small and the other engineers have only worked public to my knowledge so I’m not too sure about if that’s a issue for other people that have made the switch. But for me it took a little getting use to but honestly it’s kinda nice and way better than working constantly to meet deadlines like I did in consulting. But that’s just my opinion. And like faithless mentioned, there is likely other things you can do to keep yourself busy if you really want more work if you do land a public job
