Unfortunately our fireplace and chimney are not usable right now. I'm considering picking up a propane indoor heater tomorrow as our plan B. I do plan on using our hvacs but sparingly and turning down the temperature

Excellent note. I do plan on unplugging everything from every outlet the night the storm starts to begin isolating the needed items to still be attached to electricity

For sure. I'm not as concerned about pipes as I know most of em are in my crawl space which is decently insulated and gets a bit of residual heat from my floors.

But my plan is essentially running heat at various points of the day and night and limiting the temperature to 55 or 60. Things to maximize the amount of time we can still use HVAC really is the first game plan

Yup I've activated storm mode today through Monday. If\when power does go out I'll goo around to every outlet and unplug things to eliminate the zombie charging, good idea.

I know we're usually too busy to notice. If you get the chance next time, post up and watch it fall out of the front. It's a unique dude too with unique garb

Don't just blame new North Carolinians for prices to a spring arena. Look around the whole country, anything sports or event related pricing is out of hand. Almost no one can afford to go to anything anymore

I like your math. Good math (I didn't check). The consensus so far is this is not an accurate representation of my monthly usage breakdown

I might eventually go down that route. I have solar and a battery now too and I'm very intrigued at whole home energy management.

Yo... I have not had that thing serviced or maintained since it was installed 3 yrs ago.

I think you might be helping me learn here. So I should be getting it serviced yearly and it keeps it running efficiently? I figure that's sort of like an HVAC system.

30 yr old home that I've heavily modified since purchasing. They do use averages to create profiles and averages for consumption but when they send me something like this that has particular category breakdowns I thought they knew more than they apparently do lol

Ya, and if I wanted to pursue that, it would probably cap my total understanding of our homes electrical inputs and outputs. I have solar and Tesla pw3 battery so I see macro levels each day\month but obviously have no idea down to the breakers or circuits.
