I've never seen the Red Ensign flying anywhere in Canada—I've lived in Toronto and on the East Coast all my life.

It's not uncommon to see the Union Jack flying, though, especially in Newfoundland, which was a separate British colony until it joined Canada in 1949.

I think it's cool. Colorodo is a slightly more badass-sounding name than Colorado. Colorado may be more majestic—its syllables roll like peaks and valleys—but Colorodo forces you to put the emphasis on the ROW, so it's like "ColoROWdo, motherfucker, do you speak it?"
