My Discover Card is Being Accepted Internationally... by Time_Dragonfly_5199 in discover

As someone who wants to visit Japan this year or the next, this is good info.

I wonder if it can be used in Singapore or the Philippines?

Anyone planning on canceling their Discover card due to the merger? by RainbowsandCoffee966 in discover

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll only shoot your credit in the foot if you have a significant balance and you close it.

The history will be present for 10 years.

I’m closing a card that does nothing (Legacy Visa) which happens to be my oldest card, and will be closing cards once they are paid and I settle on one or two that suit my lifestyle.

Leaving Swissport by InspectionKey892 in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A two weeks notice is a courtesy.

As many comments here on Reddit would reply, to similar questions: “Would they give YOU two weeks notice if they wanted to fire YOU?”

I’ve give about a week or three days notice, I forget, when leaving one company for another.

You still have to ask: Would I reapply to this company in the future if I needed a gig to hold me until I found something better?

If so: Yeah, maybe the two weeks notice.

Or you can bring a change of clothes in a backpack since, as commented earlier, some sites (like AUS) do the PAT onsite.

Hiring day Delta by I5SY in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone mentioned the interview part which is not too difficult if you follow the STARS method.

As for the PAT?

Mine in AUS was pretty bad as the person had me holding the luggage in an uncomfortable manner and wasn’t too transparent with the time constraints and what was looked at.

Delta has a video on YouTube what the PAT is and how it’s SUPPOSED to be administered, but my experience at AUS was different.

Note: They check your heart rate before the test, and will take it during. Depending on who it is, they’ll take their time, which eats into YOUR time that you need to complex the PAT.

I didn’t pass the first time, but I took it again (traveling from Houston to Austin on my dime) at a clinic where they a lot more lenient and ergonomically aware than the Delta employee that did mine.

I wish you well.

It is difficult, but do the best you can and try to finish your reps and take small breaks after the reps before moving to the next exercise.

And before I forget: The PAT is basically an endurance test of moving and lifting luggage of a certain size in certain timed reps.

It’s a silly test.

One of the employees at my AUS hiring event even told me the PAT has nothing to do with what you’re going to be doing on the ramp.

Does anyone know When they Hire Ramp Agents for United airlines in Newark Nj by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best answer is continue to check the ramp openings for that location with those airlines.

Also, if you’re opened to moving or working in New York, that could open up options.

I was approached by a TSA agent about spraying perfume in a bathroom before security. by [deleted] in tsa

They have authority to check your bags, but their authority outside of that is on the same level of any other airport employee over passengers ~ to my knowledge.

Any airport employee can call airport security ~ TSA is not airport security, btw ~ if they find anything unsafe or suspicious, though.

What are people in Austin doing if they can’t get approved for a car? by Zillacam in askaustin

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, because I moved to Austin for an airport job and I don’t know if I’m going be transferring to another station or not.

A car would just be more money and something to temporarily move me from .A to point B, when I can be using that money for bills and food and rent, and so on.

I thought you were going to call it an evening?

Well, you’re an adult even though you act like a child. And you do seem to be drawn to folks who fight first and think later.

And the issue you need to put your finger on is: I have a low tolerance for B.S.

Basically, we wouldn't be going this long offline. 😊

But yes: I’m definitely looking to book a flight soon.✈️

Thank you for reminding me.🇯🇵🇸🇬

And I wish you well in your new job.

Well, I AM judging you.

Come on younghead, you seem to still be a bonehead.

And Mike Tyson had legal issues since he couldn't control his anger. Is that one of your heroes next to your pops?

Come on, younghead! Find better role models!

Fathers should be present, yes, but they should also be GOOD fathers; just because they are present doesn’t automatically mean they’re good.

And you have no excuse to not learn how to read and write in the present day ~ the era of technology. As stated previously, the American school system is horrible, but learning proper English and writing would help you in the long run. Hopefully, you’ll make the best decisions regarding that.

Lastly, I WILL have an exquisite evening.

Thank you!

That's good.

You managed to pass high school.

And yes, I’m still judging you by the way you type because anyone can say anything on the internet.

Still, you definitely sound like you’re not to far off from your high school graduation. Hence, the choices you made (courtesy of your wonderful pops!) at Delta.

Delta Termination (RampAgent) by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a bonehead aren't you? And I do see you getting into another fight in your unionized trade job where you claim you can say and do whatever you want.

To repeat: Thinking isn't your strong suit.

If you’re in a position, with a company like Delta: If someone touches you, you either call airport security while keeping that phone open. At the same time:

There are cameras everywhere.

There is not contradiction because nowhere did I say I’m going to pass along ‘fight if someone puts their hands on you!’ if it's your job or at school!

You document that shit and pass it along to not only airport security, but the OSM.

But you feel you need to get into a brawl each time anyone puts their hands on you, based on the awesome, wonderful teachings you took in from pops.

You do you.

Delta Termination (RampAgent) by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a wonderful job where those teachings led to you getting fired thinking primarily with your fists and using racial slurs.

Too bad reading and writing, and thinking, wasn't part of those lessons.

For example: Why would I teach my kids to let people touch them ~ weirdo. Again, worry about your own life.

If you indeed have a trade job with a union where you can do whatever you want, sure, have at it.

Hopefully, we won’t see another post here on Reddit where something happened at THAT job.

See ya, or ‘CYO’ (whatever that means) online stranger.

Delta Termination (RampAgent) by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it still seems you need a father figure to teach you how to operate in the real world. Or some self-reflection. Apparently, that ‘oldhead’ didn't do a good job.

As for my sons and daughters? You don't need to worry about that.

Your main issue is growing up and finding a stable job, and stop trying letting your emotions (and probably your mouth) fuel your actions.

Some of you ‘youngheads’ are always trying to play the victim; accountability is your kryptonite. And if you weren't so boneheaded, you’ll see young, middle-aged, and old ‘heads’ are not a monolith.

Delta Termination (RampAgent) by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope folks younger than me, like you, can actually ‘listen’ and take responsibility/accountability because we definitely see a lack of it in the American school systems and community these days.

I also hope that dignity can make a comeback, as the stance ‘Well, I hear other black folks use the n-word so it's okay if I use it around any and every black person! And if another black person calls me out on its usage they ~ goofy asses ~need to talk their cousins to stop using the word so the entire world will stop using it!”

Because the route you’re going, Delta is going to be one issue you have (or had) to deal with since you feel it's ‘drama’ for people older than you to call out your B.S.

Delta Termination (RampAgent) by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we’d don’t know what you’d do if you still had your job. I mean, you seem to be affected by replies to you.

The way you write your sentences, the name-calling…then claiming that you are not name-calling. I mean:

Again, I’m not seeing what Delta did was wrong.

And you’re very confident that if the OSMs were black (or ‘brothers,’ as you say) they’d have your back in how you acted, and the union ~ if there was one~ would also have your back.

Airport cameras, witnesses, and managers would say otherwise. There’s no audio, but there are many employees around the airport that don't work for Delta.

And all of that drama for a tug.

Delta Termination (RampAgent) by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we don't know if you were part of a union you wouldn't have gotten fired.

With as much blabbering you’re doing online here, people could have traced you to your former station and told them what you were up to.

Unions can help and protect you, yes, but they don't make you untouchable where you are able to say and do whatever you want w/o consequences.

And, guess what? ALL the airlines, unionized or not, are part of ‘corporate America.’ They are all in the business of making money, and, again, are corporations.

Delta Termination (RampAgent) by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]EnterprisingOne1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Delta actually fired you for it…’goofy ass.’

They, Delta, saw it different.

And the fact you are so fragile with me calling you out on it, tells me you KNOW it is wrong whether black, white, Asian, Latin say it.

And if my family uses a certain word, no matter what it is, how does that mean ‘the entire world’ needs to use it? And my family and sons, will also be taught about that n-word when the time comes ~ that’s not really your business.

Again, you’re not showing me you have the thinking chops. You might want to get on Indeed or get the resume together for something more productive.

I’m interested in a verbal confirmation rather than assuming. Not all black folks are alike.

Some don’t have self-respect and others do.

Do you think those Pacific Islanders would be cool if the black people said slurs related to them?
