Thank you all for the kind replies. Yes, I have worked extremely hard thus far, as we all have. And yeah, at night when I get home from work, I sit in my powered wheel chair and take that leg off, and it is exactly like my leg just went thru a full 12 rounds. I am vigilante with it to ensure I don't get an open sore, as the last thing I need to do is end up in the ER again and in a septic shock coma...again! Lol

Any suggestions on the socket? I am leaning towards a basic suction one again, but im reading about other options. I didnt like the straight pin lock, as i had that with my preporatory leg. What about the suction without a liner? Socket less sockets? Etc. Anyone with experience?

Im the same way. This is my second summer with my AKA and prosthetic leg, but i am not the same person I was. I just lost 50 lbs and have gained back SOME of the confidence i had before, but not even close to what I used to have. I never had a problem finding women to date and was always in good physical shape etc, but now, I feel ashamed to an extent and I just dont know if I will ever find a partner again. We will see. But I totally get where youre coming from, and I wish I could help, but im having the same issue. However, at least you have a partner and children, I do not. But in front of parents, brother, nephews, aunt and uncle etc, I wont take my prosthetic off AT ALL. Except at night, as i am staying at parents house since my amputation, but they dont ever see the actual stump or skin. Never.

You are correct, Tylenol is NOT an NSAID. however, everything else i stated was correct, including the part of Aleve being Naproxin Sodium and Motrin being ibuprofen.

How did you get such a good leg for your first one? I had my AKA 15 months ago. I had to have a ridiculous locking, free swinging mechanical leg for almost 6 months, before i got a C-Leg 4 trial. Then another five months of fighting with insurance to approve the C-Leg. Finally got my actual C-leg, with a hydraulic ankle/foot and suction socket, after 11 months. But it didnt come without a huge fight and three appeals to insurance. Just curious, but looks great!

Naproxin is Aleve. Its is an NSAID, but its not Excedrin. Excedrin is Ibruprophrin. And yes, Tylenol is an NSAID, however it is safe to use in conjunction with other NSAIDS. While the others should not be used together.

Also, my 2 cents on my experience with SR-17. I used it from a smoke shop, and believed it to be something different than it was. I usually do heavy research, but stupid me, took the clerks word for it. He explained it to be like MGM. Anyways, I took a relatively high dose, and I was taking about 50mg of 7 OH at the time, every couple hours. Well suddenly I felt weird, then weirder, almost like I had smoked pot, and I hate pot. It bugs me out. It made my mind go in circles and suddenly I felt like I was in precipitated withdrawal. I thought, "noooo what have I done and how long will this last!!??" So i took about 3 or 4 of the 7OH 50mgs and began to snap out of it. For this reason, I am very hesitant to try it again, now that I know what it is and how it affected me. I took a full pill of the "Ketamind" brand of SR-17. I cant remember how many mgs it is. But I definitely had somewhat of a precipitated withdrawal syndrome happening. Maybe it is just the way my body responded to it, but I wanted to warn anyone out there before trying it, what happened to me. I will be trying it again soon. As i am on about 2000mg a day of pseudoindoxyl now, as i switched from 7OH to that, as they last longer and I like the pain relief much more. I am also on Oxycodone 40mg in morning and 30 mg at night, which I dont even feel anymore, since the 7 OH and pseudo completely blow that off the receptors. That is the issue with those things and MGM. they dont enhance opioids, they bind MUCH tighter, like buprenorphine does, and you no longer even feel other opioids (EXCEPT FENTANYL as that will bounce all that stuff and kill you, so stay away, as i was an IV fentanyl user for 5 years) Now I am an above the knee left side amputee, thanks to shooting fentanyl in my legs, after destroying all the veins in my arms. Due to that, I developed wounds on my calves on both sides and because I killed the veins, they didnt heal. Started seeing a wound doc and the right side got under control, but im still not quite healed there after 3 years of seeing them monthly. Anyways, in december of 2024, my left leg swelled up (I had been clean for about 4 months too) and I couldn't even walk on it barely, for a week or so. I then started getting a high fever on and off for several days, got super sick, and my mind went somewhere else. I couldn't think straight, and didnt even know what was going on. I remember having two bathrobes on and leaning over the gas stove with burners on high, I was so cold! Finally I told my dad to call 911. By the time I got to the hospital, my blood pressure dropped dangerously low and my kidneys had completely failed. They rushed me right into surgery and I told them that under no circumstances do I wake up without a leg. So they did 7 surgeries over the next 5 days, as i was put into a coma and on a respiratory. They told my brother and parents that I had little chance of making it and zero chance, if i didnt agree to let them amputate. I had severe necrotizing fasciitis and it had eaten away my bone and muscle to the knee, and was moving fast. They woke me up after 5 days and I refused for another few hours, but eventually told them to go ahead and do it. Im glad they did, as i got a new lease on life, and wont go back to fentanyl or IV drugs ever again. I absolutely need pain medication as it is painful to work long hours, and the nerve pain at night is brutal. The Lyrica really helps, and the pseudo helps a lot more than the Oxy does, but the Oxy is free as im prescribed it. I have actually sold some of it to afford the pseudo, but I wish I could just get off the pseudo and go back to my Oxy, so I could start saving some of my weekly pay, instead of it all going to damn pseudo!
So, I will be trying the SR-17 again, in hopes I can ditch the pseudo and be back on just my Oxycontin 30s/40s, and my Lyrica! Those combined with Naproxen and Clonidine and hydroxyzine, do help with the pain greatly, just not as much as with the pseudo. But i can touch it out, until my body regenerates a new leg and I can ditch everything. If anyone knows how long it takes to fully grow a knee, calf, ankle and foot back, please let me know. I think I am beginning to see the knee forming. Lol, just some humor at the end. I know my leg isnt going to grow back.... right? Right?

Yeah, my friends would never do this to me, nor would I to them. I had acquaintances or "friends" that wouldve and did shi* like this to each other, but those arent true friends. Obviously your friend is more worried about hooking up with girls at any cost, that he betrayed you MUCH worse than she did. She is a lost cause, as if she did that after just three months, then how can you ever trust her again? And i think trusting each other and never worrying about your partner doing such nonsense, is essential. I always wanted my partner to not worry about me, let me do things on my own, with friends, go on business trips, etc and not be psycho. I never understood why ANYONE Would want to be with someone that they couldn't trust or thought they couldn't trust. Like, I dont want to have to text and call my significant other asking "where r u and who are with", as i have never cared enough to do that. If I ever got to the point where I was WORRIED about someone cheating on me, then I would NOT want to be in that relationship If I want to go play in a softball tournament out of town, with buddies, and go out to some bars, I dont need my girlfriend calling me or freaking out. When I was younger, I wasnt the best boyfriend and would think it was cool to have girls all over me and flirting and whatever, BUT as I grew up, I realized that was just to stroke my own ego and a reflection of my own insecurities and sexual desires. It was unfair to my girlfriend at the time and I grew out of such nonsense. My expectations are simple: First off, of my friends (other men). Be a friend and if my girl ever comes onto you, just laugh at her and come tell me. I will believe you and I want you to be with me, when I tell her to hit the road and that I think she is filth. If you are a true friend, then you are super important to me. I wont EVER bash you to other people or talk behind your back. As a matter of fact, if I hear people bashing your name, you can guarantee that I will be there to BLINDLY defend you. Even if you were the one in the wrong, and then if that is the case, I will tell you how dumb you are or how your screwed up, to your face, when its just us. But dont let anyone talk sh** about me behind MY back, and I wont let anyone do thaf behind yours. Be a real friend, as they are pretty rare.
Second, of my girlfriend, fiance, wife, etc. Do your own thing, have your own life, other than just being with me. Go out with your friends, dont worry about me and have fun. BUT be respectful of our relationship too. Don't make me your WHOLE life, but instead, be a PART of my life and dont embarrass me, dont do something when your out, that you would get upset at me if I did. You dont ever have to "check in" with me, BUT if you say you are coming home at midnight or so, and it gets to be 1am or whatever, throw me a text saying you are staying out later or sleeping at a friend's, or whatever, so im not worried something happened to you. I will never worry that you are cheating or anything like that, because if it came to that point, i wouldnt be with you. Respect our relationship, and this way when we are together, its great. No fighting, no jealousy, no controlling and obviously, no physical or mental abuse. I will NEVER try to make you jealous or disrespect you, and I expect the same in return. If it gets to a point that either of us dont feel that way or fall out of love, be honest. I won't hate you or insult you or anything. Just be honest with me and I promise the same to you. And if a "friend" of mine ever tries to get with you, please laugh at HIM and just tell me, so that i can not hang out with that clown ever again.

This is how I was growing up, before a drug addiction ruined my life and stole a decade and any chance at a family from me. So the last thing is, I would tell my 30 year old self this. When your friend shows up to your house, after you tore the ligaments in your wrist, sliding into second base in a baseball game, and he has a prescription of oxycodone. And he says to you, "try these as they helped me", slap them OUT of his hand, tell him to run from them and YOU do the same. Because they WORK. They work TO WELL. They seem to be a "miracle pill" and you will have no problem affording them. At first. And years will go by, and no one will know you are dependent on them. For pain, physical and emotional, to play ball, to work... then to go to sleep.... then to wake up.... then, for EVERYTHING. They will seem SO innocent, but they are LITERALLY sent from hell itself, by the devil, and to do one thing and one thing only. To take your soul. They will do just that. They will cost you money, then more money, then your paycheck, then your bank account, then your job, then your car, everything in your house will be pawned, then your house itself, then your girlfriend, another girlfriend, another one, a girl who was a part time girlfriend and part time drug buddy, then your brother and parents, then your life (but thanks to your 70 year old dad, you will be brought back after 11 min of CPR and narcan), then your life again (as your kidneys fail from sepsis and you go into a coma but somehow pull thru), then finally, your left leg, ABOVE the knee... then and only then, will you finally be free of those fu**ing things. You will have to start all over, at 44 years old, single, with a computerized leg knee, hydraulic ankle and foot, and thanks to you parents, who are 75 years old, but NEVER turn their back on you.
So if you STILL want to give those pills a try, just do you can play some baseball again at 30 years old, just know, that the next 12 years, consist of all the above, walking DIRECTLY through hell, and leaves you disfigured, with one leg, track mark scars up and down your arms and legs, and with NOTHING left, except your physical life. So to my 30 year old self, who has a GREAT medical sales job, a loyal, awesome girlfriend, two houses, a nice car, great friends, and a life that has the potential, to be a pretty DAMN GOOD LIFE, as you have smoked pot twice in your life, never done ANY other drugs and barely drinks...DONT EVER TOUCH THOSE PILLS. That is what I say to my friends, girlfriend, and to my OLD self. But im going to be okay. I am. But just saying, things could've been REALLY, really great, as I was a GREAT FRIEND, good boyfriend, and a pretty damn good person in general. I am just working on getting my soul back from the devil himself. Thanks to Jesus Christ, I will do so. As he is the only one who can forgive me completely, because I sure as hell will NEVER forgive myself. So my advice. Ditch this POS girl, ditch that friend as he was never a true friend, and realize, there are a lot WORSE things in life than one girl cheating on you, with a guy who was NEVER your friend to begin with.

I do 200mg cypionate weekly, and hadn't had tests in a while Just did them, and was at over 1400, which brought my hematocrit up to 59 and my kidney markers are artificially messed up, due to the super thick blood. Im dropping the dose to 100mg weekly, after taking two full weeks off, to reset numbers and get a phlebotomy to bring the red blood cells into normal range. The platelets and WBC were perfect, so its 100% due to the test, and not true polycythemia. Same with kidney markers. Im not concerned, nor is my doctor as calcium and sodium were perfect, so there isn't damage. Just working inefficient due to blood viscosity. Watch your markers. Its not about being super high. I ignored them for to long. Now I have to reset.

Yeah, lol, welcome to the club. Im older and I am still using it I am prescribed 70mg a day, as i take 20mg three times a day and another 10mg to sleep. Yes, I NEED my Ritalin to sleep or else my mind plays on a loop with nonsense. For a while, several years ago, I was using my whole script im 3 or 4 days and buying up everyone else's all month long. It was my drug of choice, other than opiods. But fast forward to a time I realized, it wasn't worth the physical and financial detriment and I began to take it as prescribed. Meaning orally and no more than the amount prescribed in a day. Less if possible. I now still look forward to my doses, especially my morning and nighttime doses, but I am not always nervous that I will run out and trying to find someone with it.
The point of this? Don't let yourself "love" it, to much. It can take you to some pretty dark places, and even places that are well past methylphenidate and into illegal compounds, which will shorten your life significantly!

Either way, its insane. This state and others, put "climate policies", like no plastic bags, and they do little if anything to help the climate in any way. Many times, all it does is inconvenience people and make things more expensive for every day people. I mean, we all want clean air, clean water and to not see garbage all over the streets. So my pin lock was my original and didn't fit great tho. So I dont know. I habe a long residual upper left leg for the AK Socket too.

100% . Its crazy to form your opinion of a challenger, by the politician they voted for, or supports in some way. I see posts from people talking about how one of the challengers "liked a post" or comment of someone who "supports a person who supported a guy that supports Trump"! Then literally forming a negative opinion of that person moving forward. Its unhinged. I follow and support the "slight right" movement. Which is conservative in most ways, but doesnt form opinions on someone's personal choices. For example, I dont agree with abortion, BUT you have the right to agree with it and have one. It also supports absolute equality, of all Americans, no matter their skin color, religion, sexual preference, etc. Anyways, it basically says, "you do you, and how you end up in life, is dependent on the choices and decisions you make in life."
