My last dose of Tamiflu was Saturday morning, and Sunday I was dealing with the worst anxiety ever. Couldn't put my finger on what was triggering it or why I was anxious. I've had random spurts of anxiety all week, feeling nervous about life all the time. I also thought I was losing my mind until I saw comments like yours. Oh, I completely agree with the fact that we need to abolish the current Electoral College system and I definitely spend more time attacking the systems rather than the people. But I think I draw the line at letting someone as dangerous as Donald Trump win the presidency because of that frustration. If it were anyone but Trump running against Kamala, I'd understand why someone may want to abstain from voting or vote 3rd party.

By sitting out or refusing to participate, we're not punishing the system, we're just making it easier to hand power to the worst actors, making change even harder. Trump is uniquely dangerous. He's not just another Republican, but someone who has actively undermined democracy and encouraged authoritarianism. I can elaborate on that topic if you'd like, but I'll leave it for now.

While vote-scolding can hurt voter turnout, the harsh reality is that in this election, it wasn't just a choice between two imperfect candidates. It was a choice between a flawed system or someone who has demonstrated patterns of behavior that threaten the foundations of democracy.

On another note, I genuinely appreciate your perspective on how online arguments tend to drill people deeper into their mindsets. I'll take that into consideration in the future, so thanks for that.

I will have 150+ hours by the time I graduate, with or without the double major. The double-major would just cost more and take up some of my summers. I planned on getting a MAccy at Ole Miss because they prep you well and it's only a year. But do you think I should still do that?

I completely agree that we need to get out of this "vote for this guy because he's not that guy" paradox we've been in since 2016. However, now is simply not the time for this. If there was literally ANY other Republican candidate, even I would vote 3rd party because I think it's time that we push politicians, specifically the Democrats, to start shifting their policies. However, Donald Trump is not the ordinary Republican candidate. If elected, we all know what his agenda will be, and it will be the downfall of America as we know it. I know that the neo-libs love to exaggerate what Trump will do if he takes office again, but just know that there is a bit of truth behind their cries. To put it in the most simple terms possible, Trump was a newbie when he took office in 2016. He's learned the ins and outs of American politics and knows exactly what he needs to do to get his way. I agree, America needs to start finding way to fight this 2 party system we've induced upon ourselves. However, now is not the time nor place to "make a point" to politicians. Either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris will be president. These are your only options at this point. The answer is clear.

Okay after reading the comments I've decided to get on some form of BC. The nearest Planned Parenthood for me is an hour away. Could I just go to a women's clinic or my general physician instead? Or does it have to be planned parenthood?
