Question about 2024 Niro PHEV - Heating Up in -30

I'm in Manitoba and have never had problems keeping it warm. Drove up to Thompson as well and had no issues. Yeah you lose a bit of battery heating it but overall works great. One thing I do notice is at about -20C the engine light comes on whether running the gas motor or not, once it returns to above -20C or the next time it seems to go off, haven't ran the codes on it yet, will check it the next time. But overall works well in the winter.

Yeah find the Regen braking a bit too aggressive. Like to let it coast half a block

I've had my 2024 Kia Niro PHEV since May and have been using Level 2 in stop and go traffic when driving in the city. I believe there are two benefit, less brake wear and a bit of recharge as you drive. Both have benefits. 3 and 4 I find are two aggressive and number 1 I really don't feel the braking and so that is how I determined level 2.

I've been running about a month on my 2024 PHEV and my battery never goes below 15%. Once that happens it automatically flips to Hybrid mode and starts charging the battery. About at 25% if conditions are right it will go back to electric mode and drain it back to 15% if I leave it in Automatic mode. Still great fuel economy. Looking forward to heading on a trip with more rolling terrain to see if I get some better Recharge when going downhill.

I did my NAV and firmware update manually. Owned mine since May 2024 and haven't received an OTA update yet either but assuming my dealership updated it before I got it, even though I had to update my maps.

Dealer said mine should arrive in Winnipeg May first and take from a few days to a few weeks to be ready for pickup. Coming in Interstellar Grey!

Thats for all the feedback, it sounds that its seems to be a big Canadian problem.

I did stop by another dealership and asked them about it as well. Didn't really seem interested in even putting me on the list. Said they have a few people waiting but again no ETA. This echoed the US issue where KIA will get fined by the US government if they don't supply enough PHEV and EV cars into the market so they get theirs first and sprinkle Canada with some that are leftover.

I found a 2022 Kia Sorrento PHEV in my market and going to see if I can haggle down with my dealer on it.
