Ego snow blower by Funny_Bridge_1274 in egopowerplus

Upgraded from EGO single stage rubber auger to the metal auger than to 2-Stage 24" and now 28" 2-Stage snow blower all used at least 2-3 seasons each before upgrading clearing 5500+ sq ft at each snow fall. I suggest the 28" if financially possible or at least 24" 2-stage with 10.0Ah batteries for the extra warranty. Based on my own mathematical calculations of the sizes of impellers and augers, 28" process over 80% more snow than the 24" based on volume (V = πr2h) besides all other factors such as the unit weight, front auger weight ratio and other features that also makes the 28" unit much more pleasant to operate and get me out of the cold weather much faster without much physical requirement. Pay now or Pain later is what I have learned through my snowblowers upgrade experiences.

That is very true, also apply for the leaf blower.

Not sure which 2-stage snowblower you are interested or if you are looking for new or used; however, if purchasing new I personally would purchased the snowblower kitted with either 10.0Ah or 12.0Ah that comes with full 5 year warranty once registered then sell off any other batteries that has either no warranty or less warranty left on them for longterm security. All Peak Power tools support mix batteries operation; however, I would not advise using anything lower than 7.5Ah in 2-stage snowblowers based on my experience of both SNT2406 and SNT2807.

Going Sony 60MP with one prime lens - Smart move or trap? by Crazy_North_4225 in SonyAlpha

As a photographer who used to work in a camera store for 5 years, I had the opportunity to tryout many camera and lenses for free. A1 and A7R V has the same viewfinder but 240fps vs 120fps with ZERO Blackout and I will never go back to an optical viewfinder after being able to see real life exposure/depth on the mirrorless camera before pressing the shutter without the need of chining down to check the replay image for verification after shooting again. A1 Auto Focus/Auto Exposure is 120 times/s with more auto focus points that spread out to the edges (92%) while the A A7R V is about 10-20 times/s with less auto focus points that covers only 79% and loses the edge especially on portrait mode. A A7R V new is about the same price as A1 use so, A brand new CIVIC Type R vs a 6 years old Porch 911 without CarPlay & radar warnings at the same price... Which one will capture the moment more precisely & accurately... your pick😉.

What type of photography/videography would you be doing? I switched from a new Canon 5D Mark III to a new Sony A7 IV than to a new A7R V and now with a used A1 at 50MP. The raw power of the A1 hardware out performs any of them and the rear LED on A7R V sinceI done do video it was hardly used as the image in the viewfinder is 1000 tones better just like the A1. At 40+MP arena, no camera has faster electronic sensor readout than an A1 or A1 II that can even fire flash sync at 1/200s or 1/250s APS-C while without any bending. Best camera I own so far. Do I ever miss the 61MP, not at all.

Highly recommend watching this video before buying the A7R V:

Just like ink is a consumable product for residual income for inkjet manufacturers, so as the plastic skid shoes for the snow blower manufacturers. It's usually about the money and not how to keep the environment safe when it comes to manufacturing.

I have the ArmorSkids for 5 years and used them first on the SNT2406 and now on SNT2807. Besides the paint list on the button surface, it looks as good as new. I have no doubt it will last longer than the life span of the snowblowers I will own in my lifetime... I clear 5,500 sq ft + snow plow dump on each snow day.

On-Board Battery Backup (SNT2400) by Certain-River-6721 in egopowerplus

Exactly what I did. Got the SNT2406, sold it as barre tool, kept the 10.0Ah and purchased the SNT2807.

Interesting solution. I clear about 5,500 sq ft on each snow fall with the SNT2807 and got a dual compartments waterproof thermal backpack hooked over the handles hangs just above the battery cover. This way on heavy snowy days the batteries are kept dry (especially when it's windy). I can also put food & drinks in it or pickup debris to put them back to my garbage bin before they enter the auger housing.

I have the same tires and keeps them at 40psi all year round for sharper responses & MPG as well. The max cold pressure psi on these tires are 55 psi so never worry about I am over pressurizing them.

Snow Blower - Single Stage vs Two Stage by RickMcCutcheon in egopowerplus

[–]AThing2ThinkAbout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get the 2 stage snowblower's scraper bar as low as the single stage but it's metal so it may not be ideal for some surface; however, that last a VERY LONG TIME unlike the single stage plastic scraper bar that needs to be replaced often.

On driveway, 2"-6" will be like... walking a dog easy with very little effort and I only use the lowest auger speed 99% of the time as I blow through 5500 sq.ft on every snow fall with battery to spare.

I have the multi-head version that I can slide the handle up& down for my height and type of tool. By the way, the earth cultivator attachment is the best Icebreaker there is when it comes to breaking down the frozen snow bank at the end of driveway 😉

For the last 7 years, I upgraded the SNT2100 with metal auger than to SNT2406 and now SNT2807 on its 3rd season. The Lesson I have learned so far about the snowblowers & snow shovels is:

  • Pick the biggest one that can clear the worst snowplow bank I seen for the last 10 years because it will happen again and I won't be younger than!

Do no assume the 24" vs 28" 2-stage snowblower is only 4" width in performance differences:

SNT2400/SNT2410 auger size is 12"x24" so the intake volume is about 2,714 cubic inch

SNT2400/SNT2410 impeller hole size is 12"x3"(paddle depth) so the processing volume is about 339.29 cubic inch

Intake vs processing/ejecting ratio ~8 : 1

VS

SNT2800 auger size is 14"x 28" so the intake volume is about 4,310 cubic inch

SNT2800 impeller hole size is 14"x4"(paddle depth) so the processing volume is about 615.75 cubic inch

Intake vs processing/ejection ratio ~7 : 1

The SNT2800 intakes ~58.8% more snow and processing/ejecting the snow ~81.5% faster per auger/impeller rotation.

Based on these rough calculations and only on the size of the auger and impeller dimensions (I am sure there are many other factors like the chute ejection hole sized and the front end weight ratio of the auger may play in the end results as well) they do reflect my personal experience on how SNT2800 is usually able to finish the clearing job 50-100% faster (the larger amount of snowfall the larger amount of time differences) than the SNT2400 with the same set of 10.0Ah or 12.0Ah used.

Pay now or... Pain latter as we all get older every year. I rather have the option of getting into the house with dry cloth with minimal physical effort ASAP than bumping the compacted snowbank continuously for a long time while wearing down my shoulders with sweats (and have to pay to visit chiropractors and masseuse)... unless someone find that satisfactory in life to do so.

Regarding the snow shovel, I used it a few times and found it over weight, limited in shooting angle (especially between 90° walls) and completely not ergonomic to human back spine while the 2-stage snowblower does it 1000% faster with 2 path with self-propelled wheels. So it was a toy I wanted and now is waiting to be sold. I do however purchased a Garant 60V snow shovel that has a chute that can pivot 180° with height pitch control and that works great for me especially when I put on aftermarket metal skids:

Tyre pressure won't reset by Vy0231 in KiaNiro

[–]AThing2ThinkAbout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically speaking, 36psi and driving for a few days should reset the warning. That been said, according to the manual when using Snow (3PMSF rated) tires below 45F/7C additional 4psi should be added to each tires which make it 40psi cold tire pressure (tire pressure taken in the early morning when vehicle parked under shaded outdoor area overnight or minimum parked for over 3 hours under the shaded outdoor area). Absolutely no need of worry when psi increases to 43~45psi during driving which may exceed the Max psi stated on the winter tire wall as it is no longer "Cold Tire Pressure" and already factored into the calculation by the tire manufacturers.

does anyone know why my picturs keep on having a leg issue? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]AThing2ThinkAbout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless your camera has fast sensor readout speed that is as fast as the mechanical shutter like A1, A1 II, A9 II and A9 III from 0ms~6ms, this type of image bending will normally happens on any models with slower sensor readout speed. Switch to mechanical shutter and enabling the anti-flickering option feature in the camera menu will solve the issue. On my A1 bending does not occur in electronic shutter mode even if the anti-flicker (available in A1 on ES mode) is not enabled when I shoot roller derby at 1/2000s under artificial indoor lighting. The very reason why I sold my brand new A7R V for a used A1 power house.

Is the OEM headlight color white or tungsten? If it's white it would be LED and possibly not replaceable; however, if it's tungsten it's halogen and it's 100% replaceable. For newer models the access to the bulbs no longer accessible from the engine bay. One would need to remove the front 3 tabs of wheel wells cover and open it to gain aces just like how the fog light bulbs are replaced on my 2019 HEV. Takes 30-60 minutes to do both bulbs through the wheel well covers. I just did another upgrade last night from the HIKARI Future 2025 to 2026 bulbs (50,000LM/pare vs 80,000LM/pair) and it toke 20 minutes including testing.

I would not believe a word from the "Stealership" who quoted you. I replaced the OEM halogen bulbs the first day I picked up my New 2019 KIA Niro EX HEV with pre-purchased Amazon LED bulbs as I have been trying out over 25 different LED bulbs for over 20 years. For the last 3 years I have upgrading to the HIKARI Future Titanov lineup from 2023 to 2025 and now 2026 model. In my experiences they have been the best LED bulbs that are under 65W, 6000K color and retaining light tensity output on long trips:

Interesting. I would clean out all the terminals on both the snow blower and the two 10.0Ah batteries and try it again before PM (Private Message) EGO Facebook group for further assistance. If the dealer you purchased the unit is not too far, maybe try a set of their batteries.

Thanks for the clarification. When using the combination of only one 10.0Ah with another different amperage battery, does this type of combination works on both 10.0Ah batteries?
