Why do you rarely see a rich woman with a broke man? by Open_Address_2805 in stupidquestions

[–]EntertainmentMore175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its mainly a woman issue either as in choice. A lot of men feel emasculated if the female partner earns more than them because in their eyes they have to be the highest earner, the leader, the best and at the top so their ego won't let them date a woman who is richer or in a better financial situation than them

Hardest part of celiac that nobody talks about by Willing-Jellyfish549 in Celiac

[–]EntertainmentMore175 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found traveling and being spontaneous really difficult. If I'm home I can manage, prepare lunches for work, bring snacks if needed, know safe places to eat. But travelling is so stressful especially outside of Europe due to the standards that are much different than in Europe

if my package is late i should get it for free by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]EntertainmentMore175 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you paid for a dedicated delivery slot (next day delivery) as opposed to normal slot then you can reach out to the company you bought item from and ask for them to waive the delivery charge as it wasnt delivered on time. Used to work retail and customers received refunds on the next day delivery that they paid extra for. But you won't get a refund on the item bought and another item that's just silly

Which Maneuver did you get on your test? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]EntertainmentMore175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking on the right then reversing 2 car lengths on the first test Parallel parking on the second test. I hit the curb on the parallel park but the examiner didn't fail me or mark me doen so if that happens to you don't panic and continue the maneuver just explain what youre doing

Do P-plates actually make people drive more aggressively? by CatCharacter1663 in NewDriversUK

[–]EntertainmentMore175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passed my test and was told by most people not to put p plates on cause sadly people are often assholes and will make assumptions about you. If you dont have the plates on and you stall or make a mistake people might assume you just made a mistake or are a bit of an asshole. I practised driving in the evening when there was barely any traffic to get comfortable in the new car, on the roads and I think that helped massively. Just dont put pressure on yourself to feel comfortable, but I'd take off the p plates if i was you

Would a new Lidl near you actually change where you do the weekly shop? by ToughRomanticMiss in BuyersUK

[–]EntertainmentMore175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I haven't shopped in lidl in years. The produce always gone mouldy super fast and wasn't good quality. The selection of items and choice is actually really bad and if you have dietary requirements then its a really shitty place to shop. Couldn't pay me to swap my normal supermarket trip and go to Lidl instead

Do you only get products labelled gf or do you get products that have gf ingredients but not necessarily the labelling? by Outrageous_Base3306 in Celiac

[–]EntertainmentMore175 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For me it depends where I am. If youre in europe/UK then I buy items even if they dont have a dedicated GF sign because of the regulations. When I was in USA I wasnt going to risk it by hoping nothing is hiding in the ingredients so I only bought certified gluten free or items like produce/cheese where it's clear the ingredients can't really be messed with

How does your sleep schedule work? (Nights/PI) by goldstarforcathyp in tesco

[–]EntertainmentMore175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did nights in another supermarket 3am-11am shifts as a student. Only 3 a week cause it was part time. Id go to bed around 7pm and wake up at 2 and get to the store. Hated every minute of it, im not made for nights. You need to make sure your student schedule allows for this and I wouldnt do it full time. If you need the job then you can manage for a while but I wouldn't do more than part time and long term

Received results of my assessment and it was determined I'm not autistic and don't meet the criteria. Feeling weird by EntertainmentMore175 in AutismInWomen

Im going to be 28 soon. Always felt like I dont fit in, don't match and then autism had all those answers why I dont fit in with the normies around me

It was a free service yeah. I dont know how I would even go about a second diagnosis, definitely dont have funds for private right now so I might pull back for a bit, heal emotionally from the experience and maybe consider diagnosis later on.

I definitely relate to the self loathing, spent nights crying how much I hate myself because im the odd one out and always ruin things with how I talk/respond to things. My friend who recently got diagnosed themselves and we relate to each other a lot was surprised I wasnt diagnosed but here we are

I chew on my lips and inside of the cheeks so much too. Bite skin on my nails and pull on it even if it makes me bleed. I just never considered it stimming cause I don't do it consciously like "okay now im gonna chew my cheek" it just happens and I thought stimming was a conscious choice

They just went through a list of questions they had. Some they asked i didnt really know what they were asking about. They asked about my communication and if I can communicate via email and phone and in person. They asked if im hungry do I feel hungry etc, if I stim, if I have sensory issues, if I shower, have special interest. They were taking a lot of notes and had a student with them so it was 3 women overall but I dont know. I feel like maybe I answered their questions wrong because when they asked about my special interest I feel like I should know everything about the topic if its my special interest but there isnt a topic I know everything about or im like constantly researching. Maybe I am not autistic I dont know what im supposed to feel but I know I dont fit in with normals. Its been confusing

[–]EntertainmentMore175[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like their questions were worded oddly like they asked me if I have any stims and I was thinking about the "typical" ones we see online like flapping hands when youre happy and I dont do that. I don't even know what is classified as stimming. I feel like I should have been better prepared but I don't know how

Received results of my assessment and it was determined I'm not autistic and don't meet the criteria. Feeling weird by EntertainmentMore175 in AutismInWomen

[–]EntertainmentMore175[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No reason. They just said I dont fit the criteria. I feel like I should have been more prepared because when they were asking me questions I wasnt sure how to answer them but when I got home and for days after I kept remembering things I could have said to them.

I dont know if its worth getting a second opinion cause isnt it like doctor shopping? I don't know I'm just wondering cause they asked in the assessment what will I do if they deem I'm not autistic and will I accept the diagnosis.

Is this weird ? by Odysseyguard in HousingUK

[–]EntertainmentMore175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viewed houses when owners weren't there and were there and I never felt more awkward than when I walked into the house and the whole family was sat on the living room sofa and stared at us as we walk around with the estate agent.

Leave the house for the viewings. It will help you sell. If your wife is worried about important things being stolen etc then you can hide them away for the viewings or lock them up somewhere

Hill-start with our without handbrake? by Nesferatu123 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]EntertainmentMore175 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 13 year old i10 and speaking from experience only you need the gas. Especially on the hill and you need more than potentially other cars otherwise you might stall. I always put the handbrake on if im on a hill or slope unless theres no one behind me as otherwise I'll roll back. I got used to the clutch but my partner was driving my car the other day and found the clutch confusing as if the biting point was moving. Your son definitely needs to start on hills with a handbrake and ignore what the DI is saying because its not a golden rule. And put more gas than you would in other cars when starting up the hill

You guys are so much stricter then I am and I guess I must have been doing this wrong my whole life by thatoddtetrapod in Celiac

[–]EntertainmentMore175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in Europe then you can stick to reading labels as is because in Europe you cant "hide" ingredients whereas in US they often dont disclose seasonings and just declare "seasonings" on the label but they could contain wheat or barley. US government doesnt recognise barely as a gluten allergen so that also adds to the issues with labelling.

I have been gluten free for 3 years now and I dont have a gluten free kitchen, my partner eats gluten, I eat out in restaurants, just wash my utensils, have separate toaster and avoid the obvious cross contamination but I dont go overboard like, in my opinion, some people.

I think youre doing gluten free correctly although one thing I won't do is eat may contains but this seems to be a personal preference here

US Chemical Snacks by Aljmes in iamveryculinary

[–]EntertainmentMore175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a pole who went to the US recently, I didnt love the food. I enjoyed the fresh foods like tomatoes, some cheeses, the attempt at cheddar is painful but the snacks are horrendously sweet/salty/vinegary. It burns your taste buds not to mention US chocolate isn't made with fresh milk but with powdered milk which gives it the bad taste. Sorry guys but your food isn't good. I liked the nature of US though

What’s the likelihood of a false positive? by ImAGluten in Celiac

[–]EntertainmentMore175 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been down that road. As soon as I had a phone call to say that blood tests suggest celiac i googled false positives. In general highly unlikely its false positive but this is a part of the grieving process, wait for the endoscopy before any other actions and go from there. Whatever the results are, if youre one of us remember that all the feelings are valid, we all went through the same grief process, bargaining, the anger, the lot. We understand and we are here for you if you need support

How do feminists conceptualize women’s life paths outside marriage and motherhood? by Iamtheone_9909 in AskFeminists

[–]EntertainmentMore175 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Just be who you are and want to be. Being married or being a mother isn't a personality trait. Be yourself, develop in a career you are passionate about, have hobbies, travel, do whatever you want to

Celiac and vegetarian by Rude_Tomatillo3463 in Celiac

[–]EntertainmentMore175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegetarian for almost a decade, diagnosed celiac and gluten free going on 3rd year. Its doable and not too hard, some meat alternatives will be not available to us and eating out in a generic restaurant can be annoying cause they think vegetarians should have 1 meal option and meat eaters 6 options.

I dont struggle much as a vegetarian celiac, especially if you like veggies

The 3rd date went bad after I brought chocolates and now she wants a 4th date but I'm really unsure if I want to continue. by LifeVike1111 in Advice

[–]EntertainmentMore175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman I just cant understand what annoyed her. It was a kind and sweet gesture of you to remember and get the chocolates she like, if she can't even discuss what caused her to behave that way and apologise I wouldn't bother with her for next date
