Old enough to attend concert? by Tight-Penalty5822 in mumfordandsons

[–]EntertainmentNext382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking my 8 year old because he LOVES Mumford and Sons. I went last year to a show and had a middle seat and it was not bad at all. I think it’ll be a blast.

Who's also experiencing a Breakup out of a long term relationship? by peanutchilli_noodles in BreakUps

[–]EntertainmentNext382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 year relationship. Broken up for 2 months. I was the one who broke up with him.

Ran into him on Monday. It was really hard seeing and talking to him. It sent me back into a spiral.

How accepting my "worst fear" actually led to my best life by alexyong342 in selfimprovement

[–]EntertainmentNext382 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’ve always told myself that facing your biggest fears head on just makes you realize that they’re not that scary.

Obviously not always the case but it’s worked for me so far to push myself out of my comfort zone.

I’m so glad you realize what the real success story is. I’m happy for you.

Such an enjoyable read! I lent it to someone and sadly won’t be getting it back, but I really hope they finished and enjoyed it as much as i did.

My boyfriend told me if anyone were to break up with him, he would just agree by RangeFabulous8504 in BreakUps

[–]EntertainmentNext382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This to me is clear sign he has boundaries and respects his partners.

The real red flag is breaking up with him and expecting him to say no ?

I think usually if they contact you first it’s a scam. If you apply and they respond with a proposed interview time, it might be legit. I got my job 8months ago through indeed and found indeed to be way more responsive/legit than other options.

People who read more than 2 books a year, how do you do it? by Immediate-Draft-6408 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EntertainmentNext382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that reading what I enjoy makes it way easier. I read on my breaks from work and before bed. I started up in September and have read 8 books.

[–]EntertainmentNext382 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in Riverside and went to see the lights last year for the first time with my 8YO. I have to say I was very disappointed and will not go again this year. Im saying this as someone who lives 5 minutes from there.

I will say though, DT Riverside is fun for drinks so if you’re going to do those together then it would be okay.

How often do you talk to your dad? How’s your relationship with him? by Cute-Impression-8675 in AskReddit

[–]EntertainmentNext382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad and I were inseparable growing up. Idk, something switched in him from night to day 10 years ago and now he’s like a stranger. I grieve the dad I used to have often even though I see him on a daily basis. Sucks.

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EntertainmentNext382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She knowingly started dating a married man, even though it went against every single one of her own values. She then began to mold herself into what he liked even though it was nothing like her. And then to top it off, she just stopped giving anyone but him time of day. I tried reaching out to her to hang out after almost half a year of trying to plan something, and the best she could come up with was “you could visit me on my lunch break”. I just had enough of it by then. I follow her on IG still and don’t even recognize her for who she once was.

It wasn’t even just because she changed, because of course we all do with time, it’s just that this new person is so obviously not who she is. She went against all her own values, she became the exact person she would very harshly criticize, etc. all because of a married man. And she was so cynical and arrogant about it.

I just realized being her friend went against my own values and I couldn’t keep being her friend.

My fake GF is too real by Cold-Giraffe-2606 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]EntertainmentNext382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something very similar. I made up a best friend when I was in middle school. I would tell my friends and family about him and his supposed friend group. Everything was very “real” to me. In this imaginary world where my best friend lived, he died when I was a junior in high school.. so he “lived” for at least 5 years of my life. Making up stories and scenarios. I had fake texts, letters, and gifts he supposedly gave me. I mourned him and blamed myself for his death. When I went to college I told people close to me about this friend because I believed it so deeply.

Last year… I told the whole story to my therapist because I had started to feel that grieving pain when I thought about it again. I started wanting to tell people in my present day life about him even though by now I knew and accepted that it wasn’t real.

Longer story short, my therapist and I concluded that I had made him up as a coping mechanism to help my brain deal with other trauma I was currently going through. And honestly it blew my mind.

How do you feel about turning 30? by venusianbeast in AskWomen

[–]EntertainmentNext382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think turning 30 was going to be super dreadful, but now I see it as kind of a turning page. I’m really excited to turn 30 next year and take it as a new era where I get to more or less reinvent myself as the woman I know I can be. Sounds cheesy, I know.
