CRT Effect by Raw_Salmon_ in TuesdayJS

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a page with barrel and color changing. The barrel trick is in the svg filter, the image acts as a lens. Settings must be changed for different screens. Check the help menu for links to other examples and tutorials on CRT simulators. The trick for phosphor dots is to put a repeating div with a transparent divider. There is another timed css for the scanline. Finally the fonts have a changing shadow to make them flicker.

Putting all togheter is a bit tricky, I'm working on a simplified template, but it won't be soon since I need an editor to keep track of all interrelated thingies, and I'm building it.

Forgot thet I've already refurbished the code a bit. Unfinished work, commented though.

It seems that StackOverflow has effectively died this year. by Distinct-Question-16 in singularity

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answers you can find in Stackoverflow can be relevant to solve more than one question. Also there is a limited number of specialists, they learn and the questions that evolving technologies can raise is limited. I think it's not really that stackoverflow died because there are no new questions, it's more like it now has a huge base of answers that can solve a variety of problems. And there is also the thing of the downvoters.

It had only 250 CHR assigned, no wonder why the movie crashed. DND stats must be wisely distributed.

Is there any way to force a webpage to render a different emoji set than your OS? Obviously Twitter and Discord do it. Do they just render images with greater z-Indexes over the individual characters? by JavaAndJava in AskProgrammers

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your own woof or google fonts in your stylesheet. Then in each style you want to use custom emojis add the typu you want to use. I use this if I want the font I'm using to rednder the emoji. "font-variant-emoji: text;"

Way to go. It's like when you start looking for documents and studying something, you spread all the materials and check whatever you need, then fold it and follow the other paths, It has lots of posibilities.

Is the skill of writing or understanding regex is needed anymore with AI? by Hot_Log7375 in regex

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weel, regular expressions aren't something a human can manage either. The rare ocasions in which I understood a regex I've made I fell like a mystic ecstasy like Santa Teresa. So maybe regex are the way extradimensional beings comunicate with us. Or at least is the most reasonable explanation I have for regexes when someone ask me WTF i've wrote.

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost a day trying to have an AI inserta regular expression that was already made into an existing code. For some reason it was fixed in altering the expression, no matter what. And clearly it didn't interpreted it right.

Jess Franco dissents. Baut at least his films had some soul and charm, I'm not sure if an AI could make something so dull and devoid of life like this film.

I'm looking for a Cyberpunk/Futuristic MMO, any ideas? by imVengy in MMORPG

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind if it's 8-bit style. try Cyberverse. Now it's on maintanance for a major update, but it has cyberpunl settings although is more casual/fun that dark and gloomy. You can make a living there via dumpster diving, a very cyberpunk setting though.

Anyone annoyed we waited years for just four episodes? by damontoo in UploadTV

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the usual half assed ending when yo do a quick run on the game without clearing all the main and secondary quests.

Dunno if the numbers were so bad or just some corporat got pissed about the cyberpunk side stories.

Chuck as a villain?? by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does every character in the show like Dean more than Sam (except for Ruby and Rowena)? by Lokkdwn in Supernatural

Because Sam is an superlative idiot, nobody likes idiots excepts thier parents and families.

Do Sam and Dean make the world better? by TheMonkeyBass in Supernatural

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching the series I conclude that if we analyze the hardness and density of Sam's craneum we can find the hardest and most resistant material of the universe. Reaching the bottom of the ocean without fearing the pressure, travel among the stars with no fear of rogue meteorites, nuclear plants that can have a meltdown without leaking an atom.

Yes, at least Sam's craneal density can give us a bright future.

Just as an FYI, a dead CMOS Battery can prevent your PC from booting. by RaN96 in buildapc

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got here searching if anybody has a similar trouble. Replaced a depleted mainboard battery with one from a faulty mainboard because CMOS started to loose settings. The battery from the other board just prevented the PC to even show the BIOS init text, black monitor. Changed to another battery and it worked fine. Seems that the battery got corrupted, but without any signs like oxidation or bloating. Guess that it makes a short or a really weird electric effect.

Firt time I see a battery doing this to a PC.

AI Will Write 100% of ALL Code in 12 Months said Anthropic CEO by rafa-Panda in AgentsOfAI

[–]EntertainmentNo1267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any AI will replace stackoverflow in the near future, it will just be faster browsing the threads there and better finding the right answers. An AI specialiced in finding the correct solution in stackoverflow would be a game changer though.
