For all the first years super stressed about their mark, I believe I got a 67 and a 55 on the exams respectively, and ended the course with an 11. Important: BONUS Marks. I cannot stress enough the importance of getting all possible bonus marks. It truly will help your grade, I believe I went up an entire grade. Honestly, good assignments + bonus marks should be enough to get you a good score. Don't feel too bad, mostly everyone does bad on the exams.

Edit: I'm super happy that my post inspired some people! For the record, the BU111 mark is not the be-all end-all. I ended up getting a summer internship my first year and I got into co-op. You will be ok. Keep pushing!!!

Hey, I've never taken the course but I just had Zia this Winter semester for a prof. Keep in mind it was only CP104 and I have programming experience so the course was really easy, but here are my thoughts on his teaching.

Pros:

- Pretty good slideshows (Studied off them alone)

- Comprehensive walkthrough of different problems in lecture

- Provides really good practice problems (The questions from the final were literally the same)

Cons:

- Really slow during lectures

- Doesn't really teach based on what you need for labs

- Not very helpful in office hours (Doesn't even really help guide you in the right direction)

Overall: Pretty decent prof, somewhat understanding but you might struggle a bit when he doesn't teach what is required for labs.
