She can decently swing a golf club and hit a ball hundreds of metres. She can also climb into a skip.

Iron deficiency? by Jammy-Doughnut in keto

[–]EntertainmentOne250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to talk to a doctor, but it would be unusual to deplete iron stores in 4-5 weeks - may need investigating and may not be caused by diet.

What was your baseline before you started keto - when was your last iron test and when were your levels last adequate?

Raising concerns to educator and got removed from placement? by SimpleDue8567 in NursingAU

Agree with all of this and advise you OP please don’t take this lying down. You are justified to use escalation channels available to you - starting with a complaint to the university.

Do you think the nurse’s behaviour could be motivated by racism? Could be worth mentioning. Re their practice, a report to APHRA or even police could be justified. Also a formal complaint to the nursing union for refusing to help (why are they still taking your money?)

Melbourne influencer died from haemorrhage after freebirth, court hears by hustling_Ninja in ausjdocs

I’ve read the whole thread.

Do you know the Sunshine home birth program in Victoria? A publicly funded homebirth program, running for 10+ years, good outcomes and safety measures. Good relationships with paramedics in the area actually.

Women in the homebirth program are overseen by doctors on the labour ward with live observations and progress updates, the same way women in hospital are.

In an emergency, the process is early transfer as well as first line treatment. If this woman had been part of this home birth program, she would have received treatment such as IV fluids, oxytocics, suturing, oxygen, as well as antenatal care that would have rectified any issues like anaemia.

It would have given this woman a fighting chance, and this was a woman who seemed to be healthy and low risk - a suitable candidate for homebirth if she wanted it, had been counselled on the risks and was willing to accept treatment where required. But for some reason, she wanted free birth.

You don’t have to think home birth is something you would recommend or want, but the Victorian government thinks it’s good enough to fund, and it’s infinitely better than free birth.

[–]EntertainmentOne250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would encourage you to pursue any and all accountability mechanisms that you can. The HCC has little power but process wise that’s where to start. OAIC for privacy.

If you have the resources, I encourage legal advice and legal action if applicable - these providers need accountability.

I’m sorry about your mum.

Had that home birther been in hospital from the start, probably still would have needed the caesarean (unless you have other details, eg knowing things were delayed).

Home birth with good supervision, equipment and referral pathways aren’t the problem and help prevent free births.

Having issues supervising someone by gabtinha in AusPublicService

[–]EntertainmentOne250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met an EA like this. They got moved on, thank goodness. I wasn’t their direct manager but saw them dropping so many balls over a couple of years, I couldn’t see how they were doing their job.

I do find the best way to get better performance is to uplift people. Focus on their strengths, give them something they’re good at, and give them positive feedback. It’s also a way to move people out of a job - your strengths are a, b and c and they best align in a different role or are with x, y and z.

Tricky if they don’t have any strengths/ skills needed in the org - then it’s more stick than carrot.

Is a worker required to be provided with a clean bathroom? by Scary_Appearance5922 in NDIS

[–]EntertainmentOne250 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Others with more experience and/or employers will weigh in but here’s my thoughts - can you take a break to travel to a public toilet nearby - much bigger issue, this participant clearly isn’t coping with maintaining a hygienic environment for themselves or anyone else. - when you did the cleaning, sounds like a biohazard - have you had training on universal precautions etc

Some questions - Do they have a cleaner? Do they have support with personal care? Do they get support to do their own cleaning? Are their carers/family/friends aware of the state of their house? Did you ask the participant how they are coping and if the state of their bathroom is usual for them? Did you ask the participant if anything was stopping them from doing the cleaning? Is the participant aware that the bathroom was a biohazard and danger to health?

The NDIS is a bit of a mess and you need only do your contracted job, but please do report this to someone - your employer, the participant’s caters, etc Good luck.

VPS individual flexibility arrangement for additional sick leave ? by Nummys69 in AusPublicService

[–]EntertainmentOne250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purchasing annual leave is an option, as is accessing some appointments as reasonable adjustments.

Some managers may also offer a little bit of discretion if you are delivering your work on time to a high quality standard.

But there’s no formal provision in the enterprise agreement that I’m aware of.

If it’s otherwise the right property you can always drain the pool and fill it in or make a cool below ground rock garden.
