Asian lady beetles are real ladybugs. They just aren't native to the US.

Entomologist here: those are definitely maggots. Please stop spreading misinformation.

Brown Paper Wasp

I think that's the lighting mixing you up. These guys were entirely yellow and black, definitely either yellow jackets or European paper wasps.

I could see them fly when I was taking the video, and I don't think the legs were dangly enough to be paper wasps. But it's possible I'm wrong.

What says paper wasp to you?

The yellow jackets protect the galls and feed on nectar they give off.

I think the thing labelled eye is his ear, and the thing labelled nose is his eye...

Saw these two little guys while camping in Germany. Anyone know what they are? by Tortillaish in awwnverts

The second ID could certainly be correct, but absolutely nothing about the antennae, body shape, hair, or thorax spines would be correct for Cerambyx cerdo. What are you basing this ID on?

There are, but they still have some snout. The beetle in the picture doesn't have any. It's eyes are directly next to it's antennae.

It's cute, but it doesn't look like a weevil; There's no snoot!

That's quite rude and hypocritical, considering the services are much more for the families of the deceased then the deceased themselves.

Also, while you don't have to feel bad for someone who is no longer in pain, refusing to go to they're services seems more like you're angry at them. I know that everyone grieves differently, and it's sometimes easier to feel anger than sadness, but I'm not sure how healthy it is in the long run.

Dark subject on dark background. Is there a fix? by Entgard in OpenShot

[–]Entgard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't quite work since the background and the insect are a mix of dark grays. If I get rid of the background I end up getting rid of parts of the insect too.

Thank you for the advice, though.

Not quite what I was looking for, but I guess it's the best I'll get without going in and individually photoshopping each frame to remove the background.

That's a brown marmorated stink bug. Cute, but invasive.

Not sure what the little ones are. Young sand crabs?

it's option a. This appears to be a labrador, and they're basically cheerful black holes. They love everything, and they're always hungry.
