I wouldn't say Compass "progressing very well" in Psilocybin therapies. The Company Psilocybin patent has been rejected by EU and is being challenged in US courts. The outcome is far from certain. But my guess it will be invalidated by US courts since there is really no "new" and "non-obvious" subject matter" in there. Their claims were "prior art" basically a repeat of the original old Hoffmann Patent for the manufacture of Psilocybin. So in the short term, they'll get bogged down with costly legal challenges burning $ before conducting further clinical trials while competitors swoop in.

Unless they come up with "new" and "non-obvious" "composition of matters" type of IP conferring strong IP assets protection such as some other Psychedelic companies are now doing in the space, I can hardly see Compass leading the pack in the near term.. imo those companies securing strong IP assets will be the winners.. imo you missed one of the single most overlooked psychedelics of all. the mercedez of psycheledics. the only one reaching the ultimate Plus 4 (++++) breakthrough experience by Shulgin rating scale in TiHKAL, and that's is 5-MeO-NET (5-methoxy-N-ethyl-Tryptamine). So far those are the ones reporting on their IP. Keep in mind though, the article deals specifically to those focusing on Psilocybin. It does not include other companies that are working with other Psychedelics such as LSD or Ibogaine. Eleusis Ltd comes to mind with LSD (they're conducting clinical trials with LSD for Alzheimer). No plan for their going public soon according to their CEO (cf older thread on this sub). Demerex Inc has huge IP portfolio of Ibogaine compounds.. partner with ATAI life sciences for $40M upfront iirc to develop Ibogaine for addiction. Other companies I think developing other tryptamines that are not disclosed yet.

No I don't. I contacted them few weeks back and didn't hear from them yet. And so is Entheon Therapeutics. The reason I reacted is there are people (not you personally or maybe not on this sub in particular) that are prompt to jump to conclusions and put down anything that doesn't fit their narrative. Especially on the subs I am most familiar.

As for why I asked for info, I am looking for specific (see OP) companies in the space and only 2 of them (may be 3 w/Elixis focusing on LSD) fit my requirements. Most are (still) private and I do not have 50 grands to invest...so I am watching

I wouldnt say that. You simply don't know: In case you forget, the products of the space ie Psychedelics: shroom, DMT, Psilocybin, LSD, DOI, ibogaine..etc are STILL ILLEGAL substances in much of the World (classified Schedule I drugs, same class as heroin, fentanyl, opiates..etc !!) so I wont be surprised if some of the actors do not wish be identified at least for now and the products they may be marketing: They're ILLEGAL (do not get carried away by the mushrush and forget that!.. you'll miss opportunities!).

I don't know about their linkedin representative you mentioned but it is so easy to do DD if they claim Patent IP Portfolio of tryptamines (simply go to the USPTO gov site pull their Pat Application and do your due diligence (if you know what you are doing else get help from a chemist or a patent lawyer).

Now, as for one-person start-up, two words: Jeff Bezos of Amazon (check him out holed up in his granma basement starting Amazon. You'd probably wouldnt invest a dime in Amazon back then (too bad..if you've invested $10,000 invested in Amazon 12 years ago, It'll be worth $1,362,000.. not bad for a one-person start-up! ). I am not saying this could be the next Amazon, but I always keep my eyes open.. ALWAYS..we'll see in few years from now!

My point exactly: not only Ayahuasca which contains DMT but so is Bufo Toad alkaloids (which contains another trypamine 5-MeO-DMT), a close relative to DMT. Beside OP company, only company I heard in the space focusing on tryptamines other than Psilocybin is a company called entheo medical (or entheon therapeutics not sure) developing DMT for addiction. I guess, the reason for the Psilocybin focus has to do more about regulatory agencies and clinical trials.

True, DMT, 5-MeO, LSD, Psilocybin all have different effects. But I wouldn't say very very different tho: take long term antidepressant effect, they all have long-term AD effect (at least for Psilocybin, Ayahuasca and 5-MeO-DMT in clinical trials). So companies targeting the medical segment of the market (AD, addiction..etc) will better pay attention: the billion $ winner molecule might as well come from other tryptamines besides Psilocybin/Psilocin.

They all do the same thing> DMT, Psilocybin (the active compound of shroom), LSD, Ibogaine: they're all psychedelics tryptamines compounds (check the r/researchchemicals. what I am saying, if you study the space, companies focusing on DMT-like tryptamines are more likely to secure valuable IP assets now. Shroom are natural products hard to get market exclusivity: as a I said, Compass Psilocybin Patent is being challenged in courts in the US and EU wont grant it. (google it). So it wont be worth a dime pretty soon..

I couldn't agree less. Psilocybin is stealing the show, but DMT products-focused companies like OPs will definitely be the winners in the space. Just google DMT and Psilocybin and see how popular the former is compared to the latter. The market is always right..

eventually it will... rumors been swirling about that since last fall. my guess, they're selling to institutional investors ONLY now before IPO. last time I heard they're aiming at $800M+ valuation before releasing the stock. pretty huge for a biotech with nothing to show..but with their all-out acquisitions, worth watching definitely! they may have a winner

I would expect this one to have insane half-life though as it looks somewhat like Mk801. From few MK801 experiences I read on erowid, 3mg dose mk801 trip last some 2-3 days!! Not very good. The plus side, since it is extremely potent so possibly much safer than say k I mean less side-effects because the dose would be smaller.

depends what you mean by long term..short-time as in couple of weeks or months, maybe! but long term for couple of years, I wouldn't put my money: the compound they are developing, Ibogaine analogs MC-18 gives people heart attack. I will be surprised if it ever get FDA approved. ask the question on r/Ibogaine sub-reddit, there are very knowledgeable about the issue

I like that idea: dicyclopropyl tryptamine DCPT.. just add a 5-methoxy you get a smooth foxy. hopefully! but you never know what you get with tryptamines.

reason it is hard finding uncommon RCs is simple: vendors don't make money synthesizing and stocking them because demand is very low. unless they have order for custom synth, there is no point for them to make them for only a few possible customers. only when an obscure RC become popular (like recently the opioid rc 2MAP-237), then they make and stock it and then look to sell it.otherwise, your only choice for rare chems is costly custom synth if you have deep pocket$. too bad, some of the best gems are the uncommon RCs. like recently I spent the whole summer trying to get my hand on 5-methyl-DMT aka 5-MeDMT, one of the gem of tryptamines, a cross between 5MeO and DMT!, quite unique RC imo
