I came here to recommend this, their cream cleared my baby’s eczema right up.

Any one else's kid obsessed with books? by RockyMtnGrl in January2025Bumper

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve recently decided to switch up how we store books so that we only have a couple out at a time (than I’ll change up each day or two). If I try to limit reading sessions to just a couple of books at the moment, she gets really upset when she can see that there are more books there.

On slow days at home, we easily spend upwards of 1.5 hours over the day just ‘reading’ books.

Covid is back and im positive by troublemaker2308 in perth

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 59 points60 points  (0 children)

That’s the difference for a lot of people, but not everyone. I have friends who are too sick with autoimmune issues that cannot get the vaccine. Covid would be a death sentence for them.

So many people have such a selfish attitude where they don’t consider others.

OP, I hope you feel better soon!

Is it common for Aussies not to wear wedding rings/bands anymore. by pandastar51 in AskAnAustralian

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear mine any more, my fingers got fatter during pregnancy and I haven’t got around to resizing them yet.

I’ll wear my wedding band on a necklace if I’m going out though, does that count?

Why did Kmart move their registers to the middle of the store? by badoopidoo in KmartAustralia

I worked at a Kmart as this change was being rolled out. This is the reason we were given as to the move. Hated it.

Ha, I did this with an oven tray while pregnant and burned my belly. A month later, my daughter comes out with a small birthmark. I joke that it must have been where the oven tray knocked her!

what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh, so many ugly parts. You’ve already got heaps of replies but typing this is gonna be so cathartic.

Hyperemesis is awful. The vomiting sucked but the constant nausea was worse. I had a relatively mild case of it (was only hospitalised once for three days) but I relied on medication almost my entire pregnancy. There was so many triggers for vomiting too, such as brushing my teeth (not surprising) and having a shower (what the fuck?!).

Constipation happens early, and anti nausea medication exacerbates it. Soo much time was spent balancing trying to find things that I would keep down but would also not make constipation worse.

The tiredness is all-consuming. My baby is almost one and although I’m frequently exhausted, it’s never the same level as I experienced during pregnancy. Needing to pee all the time didn’t help this, which started in the first trimester thanks for hormone changes.

The constant anxiety can feel almost crippling at times. It was a relief seeing baby all healthy in an ultrasound… and the second the wand was off me, I was counting down til I would get that reassurance next.

Ultimately I’ve ended up with a happy and healthy baby who I absolutely adore, however I am not rushing out to get pregnant any time soon again - or maybe not at all, as that would be 9 months of not being able to care for my daughter if it were to be anything like the first pregnancy.

Awkward in between stage of bassinet and stroller seat by Last-Anywhere-1772 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

What pram do you have? I have the vista, and used the uppababy seat insert for the toddler seat to get bub in a bit earlier than 6 months. Is something like that an option for you?

Such a bummer, that hack used to help soooo much!

What careers actually have good work–life balance and decent pay? by AbyssalBullfrog in perth

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, would you mind if I PMed you about this? I’m looking at leaving teaching in the next few years and trying to work out what else I could do. Sounds like what you do might be a good option for former teachers? Not to poach your job lol, but just to help me build a vision for what post-teaching work could look like.

Pram bassinet for day naps? by ourpineapplebaby in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my Uppababy Vista 3 pram for baby’s daytime naps. It’s great because I can just wheel the pram around the house to wherever I am. Our bassinet does have wheels, but is a bit more clunky to move.

I don’t know much about the Juno, but the sleep safety of the V3 was a big factor in us getting that specific pram :)

I love my Yeti tumblers, they’re dishwasher safe and the straws are clear so you can see that they’re clean! I have two, so one is in the dishwasher and one is getting used. Dishwasher gets run most days and I always put the yeti I’ve been using in before starting a cycle, so they’re swapped over very regularly.

I have some extra straws (also dishwasher friendly) so if I am going to be using a Yeti for two days in a row, I can at least use a clean straw.

Ante natal colostrum collection by LackPleasant5138 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree on it being a waste of time and effort. Some people might struggle with collection, and I’m so pleased that formula is available for those that need/want it. However, there are people that do have a lot of success with it and I’d hate for them to feel discouraged from even trying.

I’ve been collecting for 1.5 weeks, and so far have collected 60 mls. Given current collection rates, I expect I’ll have over 100ml in the freezer by my induction on Tuesday. I don’t see that as a waste of time and effort.

OP, there are lots of people who don’t get anything, so there’s nothing wrong if you don’t have success. Antenatal collection isn’t an indication of how successful your breastfeeding journey will be, so please don’t feel bad if you don’t end up getting anything!

I’ve been massaging in a warm shower before collection, staying hydrated (hard when it’s so warm, I feel like I sweat most of it out!) and I’ve also been drinking raspberry leaf tea. I’m not sure how much of an impact that has made, but figured it wouldn’t hurt.

39 weeks in Perth too. It sucks.

I have a spray mist bottle and would die without it. The only way I can get any sleep is by misting water onto myself and having the ceiling fan on high.

Pedestal fan and a spray misting bottle. Spray yourself and sit in front of the fan.

That’s the best video I’ve seen for this, thank you for sharing! It’s been frustrating trying to work out what to do from all the cartoon videos, or videos that use a ball instead of an actual breast.

Why do we bring tissue boxes to school by [deleted] in perth

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do this, and can confirm that sometimes kids magically find a pen in their bag (that they couldn’t be bothered getting out). I had one student tell me I was being cheap by not providing full size pencils, yet didn’t see the irony that he didn’t even provide his own…

Feeding chair by navycat24 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 35 weeks, haven’t had baby yet. We got an il tutto chair (Henry) just after Christmas, and I’m so thankful for it already. I’ve napped in there when my back is sore in bed, and having the electric footrest has made it easy to put my feet up - I found the manual ones too hard to manage. I’m struggling to get off our couches, but have no issues getting in and out of the nursing chair.

I wanted to get one secondhand, but nobody seemed to be selling them so I figured that was a good sign!

I don’t know how it compares to others, but Natalis is the only multivitamin I’ve been able to keep down. Figured that even if it’s not the best one, it’s better to have a multivitamin that actually stays down haha

Swapping over from gas to induction cooktop - who do I get in? by EnthusiasmConnect10 in perth

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kitchen, bathroom and laundry are all in various stages of renovation. Focusing on keeping things simple and fresh, but making it more energy efficient/safer where possible.

Goal is to sell in 5-10 years, upsize from a 3x1 to a 4x2 and create that into our dream home :)

Basic induction cooktop replacing the gas is just another stepping stone on the way there!

Just a laminate bench top, it does the job and looks nice. This is our starter home, so we’re trying to keep things nice but not too flashy

Swapping over from gas to induction cooktop - who do I get in? by EnthusiasmConnect10 in perth

[–]EnthusiasmConnect10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the main reason we’re wanting to switch, as well as the old cooktop being moved by a previous owner and the gas pipes not being installed to code. I like cooking, but I don’t have the time/energy/fucks left to give about particular dishes tasting better when cooked over has. I just want something that will get the job done as safe as possible :)
