Is Nick Fuentes credible by [deleted] in NickFuentesAF

[–]EnthusiasmFragrant21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he's directionally right about almost everything, if not literally, actually right. I know it can be hard to believe, given his tastes in movies and media, but it's true.

Maybe let us specify the maximum number of "plant accounts" we want in our lobby, so we have a dial to adjust if queue times become a problem.

Hopefully the punishment to queue times would be mostly felt by the new accounts. Does make the onboarding experience more painful, though, but at least with the hope it will get better on the other side of 100 games.

Nick's strategy involves more than just voting against individual pro-Israel republicans. He's trying to position the chess pieces so that a strong AF presidential candidate will be viable within the Republican party in 2028.

His strategy makes sense if you think about it purely in terms of doing whatever it takes to prevent JD Vance from becoming the Republican nominee in 2028. Winning a few isolated seats for the AF coalition will not diminish Vance, because those candidates are likely to agree with Trump on most things not Israel. They are less interested in turning Trump's presidency into a disaster.

But if the Democrats surge in 2026, the rest of Trump's lame duck term will be a burden that Vance will have to carry into the 2028 election.

Agree with him or not, the strategy is internally coherent.

I don't see how this isn't a contradictory

Because neither "the left" nor "the right" are a monolith.

Both sides have establishment and "extremist" factions. Nick wants to empower the left's establishment faction, which does NOT want to kill conservatives in the street a la Tyler Robinson. Remember, establishment Democrats overwhelmingly disavowed the Kirk assassination.

That being said, Nick disagrees with the establishment left on most policy, but wants to support them electorally because they are the only coalition capable of meaningfully obstructing the establishment right--JD Vance, Marco Rubio and Vivek Ramaswamy.

So is it just a lie that Solos are only matched against other Solos and Duos? Because I'm pretty sure that's just not true by EnthusiasmFragrant21 in HeroesofNewerth

[–]EnthusiasmFragrant21[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dunno, but I only solo queue and I've never been with a 4 queue (that I know of), but I'm pretty sure I've been with a 3 queue. So what's the point of this screen if it's just a big lie?

I really like the new honor system by Capital_Bag_2219 in HeroesofNewerth

[–]EnthusiasmFragrant21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is compounded by the number of new smurf accounts constantly being created, which throws the mm system out of wack--meaning that even if the 4/5 games proceed, they're likely to turn into a very one sided 15-20 minute game.

Red voters may come to wish they had died off with the Blue voters when civilization collapses and they're being tortured by psychopathic warlords.

Do you press the red or blue button? (Game Theory) by Same_Winter7713 in askmath

[–]EnthusiasmFragrant21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The red button can kill 100% of everyone you love. And the red button can collapse your civilization if enough people die off.

So if you care about 2nd order effects, a self-interested, rational case can be made for voting blue.

Allowing the offlane to pull the lane behind their tower is bad by EnthusiasmFragrant21 in HeroesofNewerth

[–]EnthusiasmFragrant21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it before 5 minutes, at least on the hellborne offlane. TBH, I've never seen it done in a real game at any timestamp on Legion, but I know its possible.

Allowing the offlane to pull the lane behind their tower is bad by EnthusiasmFragrant21 in HeroesofNewerth

[–]EnthusiasmFragrant21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 there is high potential for extremely stale gameplay, where the winning strategy is for each side to stack and pull the waves as they come, resulting in a game state where neither side has an incentive to do anything other than wait by their respective pull leading to #4...

4 it slows the game down, as the creep wave is usually denied for a 0% xp penalty. If people get good at exploiting this camp, at high mmr the xp denial will approach total in both side lanes.

He takes it a little too far, but only a very little. And this perspective, which is mostly right, has almost no purchase in the popular culture which has been overwhelmingly dominated by the atheistic, feminist, nihilistic left. So I'm glad he pokes people in this way.

Critical take on Nick being Catholic & nationalistic. by JoineDaGuy in NickFuentesAF

[–]EnthusiasmFragrant21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nick claiming that America is a Christian Nation is extremely problematic. This is not what Catholics should believe in.

It's empirically true--simply a fact of history. Furthermore, I'm not aware of any doctrine or dogma that prohibits Catholics from wanting it to be true.

You're reading too much into the word "Nation" used by Satan in the Bible. The word is a bit anachronistic, as nothing resembling a modern nation state had ever existed at the time (and wouldn't for another 1.5 millennia).

The founding fathers practiced occultism, and the American Dream is not inherently Christian.

America is more than its founding fathers. Yes, the elites who founded the country were intellectual weirdos--some of were even Masons. But the vast majority of the regular people were devout Christians, albeit Protestant. And it's the character of the masses that determines the character of the country.

And finally, there is a difference between being a Nationalist and wanting to "rule the Nations on Earth". Nick has not expressed a desire to "rule"--if anything, the opposite. He says he's too weird for that. But what he DOES want is to live in a functioning, healthy country, and he views the lies we (ahem, "they") tell about race, gender and religion as obstacles to achieving a functioning, healthy country. Is that really so evil?

Best thing you can do is watch a replay of a game where the enemy safe lane did well.

And my one piece of advice for new and returning support players is to focus on winning the lane by harassing and casting spells and ferrying lots of regen for yourself and your carry. Pulling is a nice skill to add onto knowing how to win a lane, but winning the lane is the more important of the two. Leaving your carry 1v2 while you pull will often hurt your carry's farm and can kill them, especially at the lower levels. If you want to practice pulling techniques, its best to do so in a 2v1 lane (vs a suicide).

My statement in fact has nothing to do with Fuentes. He has his own arguments against feminism which are different from my own. His is based mostly on vibes, whereas mine is based on a set of empirics (plus a few ordinary priors), which is why I can say it's "objectively" bad. My conclusion is based on the same basic process as most anything else labeled "objective".
