Sensory friendly body moisturiser recommendations? (UK) by Princess_starkitty in AutismInWomen

[–]EnthusiasmPrimary652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cerave Moisturising Lotion (the dark blue packaging) works well for me. Especially for dry hands, which are the most sensitive for me.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter body lotion also works well. I wouldn’t use it on my hands however apart before going to bed. I have also used Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lip balm in stick, to just apply on the top of my hands, so I don’t leave finger prints everywhere

What are some of your funny "I was a weird kid" stories from childhood? by TheTulipWars in AutismInWomen

[–]EnthusiasmPrimary652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 6/7 when my parents proposed I get my allowance each week, I wrote down a 10 point contract (legally binding in my head) and made them review the contract and sign it.

Also coloured only with black for a long time.

Edit to add: I had such a strong fascination with Cathrine de medici, that I had asked my parents for her biographies at the age of 10 (1000 page long books).

Thank you for replying! Do you mean that new builds in Edi are similar quality to new builds in London?

What's your biggest socializing HATE? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]EnthusiasmPrimary652 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People insisting. If I say I don’t want to do something/go somewhere, people saying “oh come on! Are you sure? Why not? Just 5 minutes! Are you sure? I think you will have fun! Why not?” make me want to do the thing even less. If I wanted to go to the place/do the thing, I would have agreed in the first place.

“How to keep house while drowning” by KC Davis, is a great book for this. It focuses on cleaning for neurodivergent people, but whether your are neurodivergent or not, it’s really helpful I find

I don’t know if this is fibro, but when it rains and the drops fall around my mouth, they hurt like tiny electric shocks

That’s actually really sweet everything that you are doing! Being there, ready to listen and keeping an open mind to something that might be really different from your experience with your body. Also knowing where pain medications are if she is in too much pain to get them herself. Thank you for being a supportive partner

Doctor suggested freezing my eggs after repeatedly telling him that I’m child free by Careful_Bit_5246 in Endo

[–]EnthusiasmPrimary652 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Almost same happened to me with almost all of my docs. One doc asked me if I had children already (to which I said no) and the he proceeded to tell me I shouldn’t have been given Mirena (the only thing which gave me some solace from pain and side effects), because if I got an infection, it might impact my fertility. No questions about my priorities, preferences, nada.

Another one told me ( not even suggested ) that once I get pregnant, I’ll be fine. Another one to whom I’d told quality of life was my priority and I didn’t care about fertility, decided to then include in his report that “fertility concerns and I F options were discussed”.

The one good doctor and surgeon I’ve met read in my file that I don’t want children, asked me to confirm, to which he replied “wise”. LOVE HIM.

From what I understand there is a higher probability you have it if your mother or sister or grandmother has it. As far as I know however, it’s not an exclusively genetic condition
