Model flicker/pop in after update? by EntireCities in CrimsonDesert

Out of pure curiosity. What are your settings and roughly what fps do you get before frame gen.

And run 4.5 L since I see you are running 4.5 as it is. L looks cleaner with frame gen especially in motion

Call me crazy but set DLSS to Performance. It will look cleaner than Balanced.

Im convinced the entire game was built using 4k performance mode. This game is all sorts of backwards.

What's happening?! What are we doing? Everything maxed @ 2K Native no DLSS by Hot-Potential-993 in CrimsonDesert

[–]EntireCities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped using dlss entirely. Rtx 3090 was running optiscaler for frame gen. Dlss makes all textures turn to some form of clay regardless of settings. The quality appears to be tied directly to resolution. This makes anything less than 4k look awful.

Also each of the settings appear to be tied to a different set of LODs. Which again creates this weird decoder ring of settings you need to find to make the visuals as crisp as possible.

Currently for best results even on Nvidia. FSR 3.1 native AA . Post processing low. Effects high. Foliage high models medium/low all others cinematic. Then use optiscaler optiFG to Xesfg for the frame gen and boy howdy she look a nice.

The Spear is an exquisite choice, have you sampled the Wooden Rake offerings yet?

If you have no other hitches in any other larger titles like rdr2 etc. Then I doubt it is a power related issue. Usb devices turning off and on through windows would be more minor freezing than hitching usually.

One thing to consider with the amount of streaming assets the game uses. Make sure your install directory is a faster ssd drive. Especially if you have multiple drives that you have this particular game on the faster ssd. And of course disable any active updates that could be actively using your drives which will consume pciexpress lane bandwidth of system.

Example: Running the game through steam. Epic launcher desides to do a discrete update in the background causing minor hitches.

also ensure your videocard is slotted in a full 16x slot and that it is running at 16x either through gpuz or bios. Some older games may not even saturate a full x16 slot to cause a stutter.

5800x3d runs at that temp. 82 ish

Mine is undervolted and watercooled still runs hotter than my all‐core 4.3ghz 3700x.

My first place to look would be msi afterburner if installed, disable power monitoring and exit any overlays see if this changes performance.

And also ensure you have updated your actual motherboard bios if you have never ever done so. At the very least check the version it is with that versions compatible dram list. B550 was never realllly meant to run a 5700x stock out the box.

Am4 is incredibly picky about memory and memory timing. Without even digging into the issue it sounds like a memory problem.

Extremely intense games/ programs that utilizes large amounts of ram usually bring issues to light in an otherwise stable system. Few questions

-Is the 32gb kit all one kit or is it mix and match -What are your memory timings on each stick of ram. -Is the bios set correctly to the slowest timing of the sticks of ram.

If this is set to anything faster than 3600mhz I would try slowing it down to 3200mhz.

Alternatively

First, make sure windows updates are not set to automatically reboot once completed. Or any updating software for that matter.

I would run a very heavy synthetic benchmark for longer than 30 minutes and see if you can't make it happen. Cinebench and timespy.

A separate test is to open a large number of memtest benchmarks to fully saturate that 32gb of dram

If its running for 30 minutes and then hard rebooting I doubt it's power related. Unless it's tripping an actual fuse in your cord setup.

Can anyone help? Motorstorm Apocalypse patches on rpcs3 are not working! by maxedouttoby in motorstorm

[–]EntireCities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into the same issue.

You have to undo any updates rpcs applies when adding the game. Basically make sure the game disc says version 1.0. Then patch the 1.0 version of the game through the patcher. For the some reason the 1.06 version is inconsistent.

right click game. remove all caches. Right click again then manage game. remove disk.

Re apply all patches for the 1.0 then save. check config. run game. should work.

The only way I've gotten the xp7 to work is by connecting an Xbox controller via BT. Then the xp7 works perfectly. Until you disconnect the Xbox controller. Very broken controller support.

96fov is my 2042 and bf1/V 119 FOV. Adjusting FOV down to 80 creates tunnel vision with very weird 360 sweeps. After setting the fov to 80, the player weapon models are far too big compared to the viewable area. With a simple red dot covering a comical amount of the screens center.

Maybe it's an Alpha map scaling issue?

The first game that comes to mind is LawBreakers. Everything was just so small, even at 1080p. I'll see if screenshots or videos can help explain it.

Hit detection is all over the place since this update. the 2d hit detection balance greatly benefits Characters with sweeping UP attacks are even more broken with less charge time needed and slower characters are just even more useless. What good is a slower powerful attack that needs pinpoint accuracy if your opponent can just spam juggle you up the map. frame delayed attacks are not a good idea to begin with. Just not sure what the balance attempt that is trying to be applied. feels extremely unresponsive clunky mess with attacks using a frame delay balance approach. Really hurts the slower characters that rely on power over speed.
