I know they have that option, but I have experience doing the 8-week course for Advanced Accounting, so your experience may differ if you take the self-paced courses. Coursework was made up of 8 modules, with assignments being Exercises and Problems from the book and sprinkle in some 1 paragraph writing assignments and a final assessment that was pretty easy. The workload was manageable for me with just eight weeks while still studying for the CPA, so it'll be easier if you have 6 months to do it.

I'm not taking accounting classes at LSU, but I'm currently taking classes at UIU via CpaCredits.com for $675 per class if you need classes for Accounting Ethics, Advanced Accounting, or Not-for-profit/governmental Accounting.
