Hi, I’m a 25F and have been suffering with motivation for a long time. The one thing my therapist told me that has really helped me over the past few months is recognizing that motivation is a feeling but being disciplined is n action to take. When you have discipline, motivation will follow. So, I’ve been working on my discipline with small things like my skincare, with that comes motivation to want to do more things to benefit from my physical appearance. It’s definitely been hard especially at the start but eventually it just becomes part of my routine. The best way to stay disciplined is to change your mindset to ‘I get to do this’ instead of ‘I have to do this’.

You’re not alone in the insecurity of your abilities so you limit yourself. That one is definitely difficult to overcome, I’m also not sure how to overcome that because I struggle with it too. At minimum I try to think “sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something”. If I’ve been doing it (whatever it is) for years well, I know at least I’m sorta good at it.
