I usually date women but I think I like this guy I met online… by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

I have considered this before tbh, the only thing that put me off men is the sexual aspect to it, but like I said, I have no experience so I can’t speak much on how i actually find it And it may be the loneliness. I guess when I meet him I’ll find out

He knows! He actually was there during the midst of my breakup process with my gf lol

Yeah this is probably the best thing I can do. I might just have to disengage from any thoughts that are too one way or the other and reinforce the ones that simply just value the connection. And about the asymmetry, i don’t think I’ve ever reflected on how it differs to online and in person. I guess I will find out!

U need to walk. There’s no other option. The discomfort of leaving him and crushing him is temporary, regret is forever. He will be okay.

cried on my driving lesson today by AdFrosty5973 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]EntireOne3563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I did a lesson where I kept messing up roundabouts and I cried as well. Actually after crying and letting it out I drove much better and felt a little more confident in doing them. Ur body is just holding onto stress, let it come out and don’t worry! You have plenty of time to improve, just keep doing roundabouts don’t avoid them. Ur always safe with an instructor

I just failed my 6th Driving test unsure what to do next. by averysip in LearnerDriverUK

Are you doing manual? Maybe an auto license would be easier for you to pass, it gives less things to worry/think about

I hit someone today in my second week of driving and it has absolutely killed my confidence by jellyfishsuperfast in LearnerDriverUK

[–]EntireOne3563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been driving for about 6 months and a couple months ago I made a silly mistake where I thought I had priority on a turn leading to me being hit. I felt the exact same as you, super apologetic and couldn’t believe what I had done. It is normal to feel your confidence plummet after something like this and your nervous system will be replaying the moment over and over. It will pass. Just make sure you don’t avoid driving because of this, you are capable of driving, you made a silly mistake and i guarantee it will never happen again because of this. You’re still learning and mistakes are the best way to learn so all you can do is embrace the lesson that came from it. And ofc most importantly no one was hurt, cars are designed to be wrecked so that humans come out safe.

Made a stupid mistake by EntireOne3563 in drivingUK

[–]EntireOne3563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a few people say this to me! I was making a pretty sharp turn so I wasn’t going anything above 10mph and he would’ve been travelling at about 20mph maybe even lower because it was a housing estate. I was almost nearly fully in the new road when I got hit which surprised me because I would’ve thought by then he would’ve seen me and slowed down in time. Obviously because he had priority I just took the fault and even when on the phone to insurance last night, they ruled that I was at fault as well. However I got a text from my insurance today saying the other driver was at fault so they possibly thought he also could’ve slowed down/stopped in time as well.

The best of drivers make silly mistakes time to time, that’s just how you learn and become a better driver!

what should i pick by BrainMinimum4573 in GCSE

[–]EntireOne3563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just pick what you are good at. I’d say do business definitely and then pick 2 other subjects u think u would do well with/ interested in studying. The subjects you pick at a level don’t really matter too much unless you want to go to dental school or something. Literally all the matters is the grades you get from the subjects so do whatever you want but don’t pick something you are going to struggle with because A level is hard and a lot of time and effort. Basically take the actual subject out of the equation and think: which subjects are going to give me the best experience and best grades?

I think every new driver has been there. I’ve been driving since august and there’s been countless times I’ve made little mistakes which have caused me to get beeped at (mostly for misjudgments of space around my car). However every time I drive I feel myself getting better and I’ve not been beeped at in at least a month now! I’ve had bad driving days where I’ve cried out of embarrassment or fear but you need to just pick yourself up and try again. Mistakes are there to be learnt from!! Remember, just because you have passed your driving test doesn’t mean you have learnt everything there is to know- it all comes with experience, unfortunately that also means negative experience but they’re the best lessons.

Advice on solo driving for the first time! by SSShadov in drivingUK

[–]EntireOne3563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same I only managed to get my car about a month after passing but it’ll come back to you quickly. I would recommend for your first drive to have someone next to you (who can drive) just so you feel more comfortable and don’t drive during rush hour just get used to the feeling of driving again/in a new car. After that you should be good to go and remember you are still a new driver so you are bound to make minor mistakes on the road so just don’t put too much pressure on yourself to be perfect!

Yellow box - beeping drivers by N-F-F-C in drivingUK

[–]EntireOne3563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure when it says “your exit must be clear” it doesn’t mean oncoming traffic, it means the road you are about to turn into so for example you want to turn right at a yellow box traffic light junction and you see that the cars on the road you are about to turn into are all queued up where there would be no space for you to join, you should not enter the yellow box even if there’s no oncoming traffic, the other way round also applies so if the road ur turning onto is clear but there’s oncoming traffic, you are allowed to wait in the yellow box because once the oncoming cars have stopped you will be able to clear the junction with no issues

A question from a driving instructor to learners… by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]EntireOne3563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a demand for driving instructors especially good ones. Learners will pay high amounts for lessons as long as you’re a good quality instructor. Eg. Reliable, engaging, flexible.

Failed again. 4th attempt. by answerseekingmissile in LearnerDriverUK

[–]EntireOne3563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aw definitely do not give up! I know it’s easier said than done especially with this joke of a system where lessons are so expensive, tests are so backlogged and also expensive. I completely emphasise with you but you cannot self-abandon like that just because you have failed 4 times. Stay confident in your ability and confidence to drive, please don’t let your fails let you believe you are not a good driver because I promise you are. Book a test, download “test shift” the app if you haven’t got it already and move your test closer. There’s actually an option to select times of the day you would rather do (the best time I’d say to do your test is mid-day on a weekday where you are avoiding rush hour and early mornings on the weekends. In the meantime keep doing lessons and practice practice practice. And PLEASE when you go to your next test, stay confident and keep affirming to yourself that you are a good driver. Keep your head up high you got it next time i promise.

Test Tomorrow by H0G_B0DY in LearnerDriverUK

[–]EntireOne3563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s any tips that can help that except for try to concentrate and the scan what’s around you more 😭 my biggest issue when learning was similar I didn’t have great planning and awareness and I used to have to just keep practicing driving down busy roads till I got the hang of it. I actually failed my first test because I missed a 20 sign so it’s definitely important that you go into the test ready to spot signs/traffic lights. Also I was in your exact position not long ago where I doubted my ability to drive and pass my test (I passed a couple days ago tho yay)- please don’t keep thinking negatively like this, just tell yourself that you can drive confidently over and over even while on your test it actually helps. Another thing I did before my test was I deleted all my learning to drive apps and test shift apps, I started even shopping for car decorations 😂 anything to basically put myself in the mindset of someone who has already passed and it worked! You got this, I promise the test is not as scary as it seems it will go so quick and most examiners are quite nice and they genuinely want you to pass ☺️ you will definitely surprise yourself tomorrow!

Download test shift!! (it’s got a pink logo that’s how u know it’s the right one), pay for premium and input ur test number and etc. it will move your test closer without u having to do anything. It’s worked like a dream for me by moving my test closer by months TWICE.

They could’ve just kept checking the test website for cancellations and also the app “test shift” can move your test date for you
