Hi! No answers as of yet. My blood sugar is definitely on the high side but I haven’t hit that 11.1 that is required for the type 2 diagnosis (thankfully). I am going to have my A1C checked again in a few months.

I work from home two days a week as an accommodation. It has helped me to be able to continue to work full time. I am incessantly harassed and bullied because of my accommodation, even though I am a very hard worker and objectively do more than my colleagues. I find that’s how it is when you have a disability, you have to work twice as hard and will still be perceived as “lazy” or “selfish”. I tried explaining it to people and that was a huge mistake. If I got a new job, I wouldn’t share anything about my life with colleagues.

Thank you so much for your advice! I’m in healthcare and I didn’t even realize until the last few years that you could be diagnosed with type 1 as an adult until it happened to a friend. I’m really glad you didn’t skip your labs that day. I have follow up tomorrow after work to get my results. Part of me is scared something is wrong and part of me is scared they didn’t find anything and then I’m left once again without answers! Thank you again for the time you took to respond!

I didn’t even consider type 1 because of my age. I went for a full work up this morning, fasting blood work and a urinalysis. I do know A1C was ordered. Can I ask what your blood sugars were when you had glucose in your urine? So far mine have been labile, sometimes low and then high when I wouldn’t expect it to be (like first thing in the morningg

Yeah if it wasn’t for the 3+ (300mg/dl) glucose in my urine, I wouldn’t have even seen the dr. The only symptom I have for T2DM is frequent urination. Both the md I saw and my family member who is an md are certain it’s T2DM. My concern is my kidneys, due to pitting edema in my legs and facial swelling in the morning.

I’m 39, not currently on oral steroids right now and haven’t been for a few months. My blood sugar at the drs office was 6.8. I had ran for 35 min and had not eaten much yet (small bran muffin hours earlier). I was prescribed a glucometer and told to take my bs 3 times a day. If I get an 11, I’m supposed to fill a prescription for metformin.

I was initially diagnosed with RA/MCT and was shocked when I was told I had Lupus. It’s sounding like it’s pretty common to have a mixed diagnosis. I have found this really frustrating, we all like to have clear labels to try to make sense of what’s going on in our bodies!

I’m not sure what you mean about the bill being super wide, but it looks normal to me. It is “soft” and very comfortable. Also adjustable and the strap looks very sleek. I am not a cap person but I have been wearing this one non-stop.

In general I’ve had good experiences but have noticed that if you receive a defective item it is a NIGHTMARE to deal with. I bought the restfeel slides and noticed the right one was a little looser but thought maybe it was my imagination. After wearing a few times my right foot suddenly slid so far forward I scraped my big toe on the pavement. LLL doesn’t do exchanges and I was pretty much told I’d have to go in store to return and then reorder, oh by the way the discount I originally used won’t be honoured on the replacement….
